Maddie groaned as she regained consciousness. She looked around to see her sister there. Passed out. "Fucking hell," she mumbled.

Maddie turned to see a guy standing there. He looked like he had been through a lot. She rolled her eyes. "Who the fuck are you?"

"No one you need to worry about. Don't worry. You're only here for leverage against your friend."

Maddie scoffed. "Oh charming. I get stuck on sister duty. Only to be fucking used as leverage," she said.

"Be quiet."

"Make me. I'm pretty sure I could take you."

Maddie said nothing as the guy walked over to her. He grabbed her wrists and sniffed her neck as he tied her wrists behind her back. "Can't fight a girl without her being tied up. Is that it?"

Elena woke a couple of hours later. She saw Maddie sitting on the sofa. "Welcome to the land of living," she said.

"What did you do to me?"

Maddie rolled her eyes. "Listen up sis. I didn't do this. In case you're wondering," she told her.

Elena looked around. Maddie saw the blood on her shirt. "Did he do that?"

"No. It was Katherine."

"I'm sick of running!" A female voice said.

Maddie tilted her head. She was confused as to what was going on. She heard another voice. "Yeah? Well running keeps us from dying! You know that right?"

"Elijah is old school. If he accepts our deal, we're free," the woman spoke.

Maddie paled. She looked to Elena. She knew who Elijah was. And part of her was worried for Elena.

Maddie knew Elena was the doppelgänger. But she couldn't just let her be taken by an Original.

Maddie rolled her eyes as she saw Elena trying to listen in. The floorboard squeaked. "You! There's nothing around here for miles. If you think you're getting out of this house, you're tragically wrong. Understand?"

"Who's Elijah?"

"Your worst nightmare."

Maddie scoffed. "I think she probably knows that. She isn't an idiot," she said as she rolled her eyes. Severely hating the fact she was tied up.

Elena looked up as the woman walked into the room. "Why am I here?" She asked as she looked to her.

'For fuck sake' Maddie thought. She knew why Elena was here.

"You keep asking me these questions like I'm going to answer them."

"Who's Elijah?"

The woman looked to Elena. She decided to answer this one. "He's one of the first vampires. An original," she told her.
