Chapter One: What is this the Hunger Games?

-Nicole-

I've been here for weeks now, and still haven't met anyone close to my age in the pack. Everyone I've been meeting has been old or a pup. But I should be meeting a lot of girls my age soon.

I came to this pack because the Alpha has forced all females under the age of twenty four and in surrounding areas to go to a "camp." More like the Bachelor, but whatever. I would've ran away but my mom when she shows her teeth makes me not want to say no.

"Hey, I'm Caitlin!" I turn around dreading what I'm about to see.

A perfect, blonde barbie.

"I'm Nicole, nice to meet you," I said with a slight smile not trying to come off rude. I'll need friends to ultimately join this pack. Trying to strike up conversation, "Do you know what's going to happen?"

"Well, every Alpha ends up doing this. He holds a camp and at the end, which usually lasts a month or two, there will be a ceremony held. And that ceremony he will declare his mate," she said smiling.

"Will there be more than one Alpha here?" Looking around at the hundred girls that were chosen.

"Yeah, don't worry. Probably about 2 or 3 more, since this is an Alpha pack there are different levels of Alpha."

"Looks like no one wanted to be Beta," I chuckled lightly.

"Well, in our pack each mate will end up being Beta to the Alpha. Looks like your new?"

I smiled light, "Yes, but you definitely filled me in."

A tall brunette darted over to us with a clip board, "Names?"

"Caitlin Dixon," she brightly smiled.

"Nicole Maddox."

"You two will room together in room 12, and your first activity will be hand to hand combat. Your uniforms will be in your room."

Hayden Rockwell, Top Alpha-

"Now ladies, for the first day I will be teaching all classes of hand to hand combat. I want to assess your skills before anyone else can." This caused all the girls in the room to irrupt in giggles, and I heard a small groan. I immediately locked eyes with a brunette with gorgeous blue eyes.

"Do we have a problem?" I ask her with a raised eyebrow.

My voice made her slightly shiver almost undetectable, "No we do not." I nodded and continued but never let my eyes leave hers.

"I will be picking your partners for you, I will call your name against another on the list. Make your way to the mat and begin to fight, I'll make my way to each of you."

"Letta Hawke and Caitlin Dixon. Lillian Tomas and Sara Shepard. Nicole Maddox and Brenna Steele. Noelle Atlas and Ivy Reaper. Brooke Hawke and Emily Caine."

Nicole-

"Is that the best you can do, little bitch?" I spit my bloody spit onto the map. It's been a while since I last fought, my wolf always does best when I get angry enough. I never hit them back until my wolf is fully charged. She grabbed me by my hair, this really pissed me off. I grabbed her finger and pulled them back until I heard them snap and her fall to her knees. I twisted her arm behind her back and I used my leg to hold her head to the ground. I let a small growl come from my throat.

"Who's little now? In any other situation we could've been friends."

I heard a loud clap come from behind me, "Well done. Took down one of the best females in our pack, what's your name?" Alpha Hayden asked looking me up and down.

"Nicole. Nicole Maddox." His muscles tightened when he spoke, his veins lightly throbbed, and his smell was intoxicating. It smelt like lavender and pine mixed, when you are in your happiest place that's what he smelt like.

"Nice to meet you Nicole, I'll be seeing you."

Alpha Hayden-

She is heaven to look at. Her body has the perfect curves, I could just imagine tracing them over with my hands. And her eyes a light blue I could get lost in. And her smell was the first thing I could sense when I first met her. It was different than any I'd smelt, like the ocean mixed with all scents of the forest. Complex, but intriguing.

This other girl, Brenna, was said to be my top pick. Everyone in the pack said she would be perfect for an Alpa. I could see why, she would be considered beautiful to a regular mans standards but not to mine. She wasn't good enough, and the way she was treating Nicole, was not favorable. I looked towards there group one last time to see Nicole spring into action, and take her down in seconds. My wolf being awakened to seeing this girl become so powerful. I cannot already pick a mate, steady yourself, you have 90 more girls to meet.
