There was a small, secluded village nestled in the heart of the forest, where the villagers lived a simple and peaceful life. But there was a dark secret that the villagers kept hidden from the outside world. In the village, there lived a mysterious figure known as the Dollmaker.

The Dollmaker was a reclusive old man who lived alone in a small cottage on the outskirts of the village. He was known for his skill in creating lifelike dolls, which he sold to the villagers. But the villagers whispered about the Dollmaker and the strange dolls he made. They said that the dolls were not just mere toys, but that they were alive and had a will of their own.

One day, a young girl named Emily came to the village in search of her missing sister. She heard rumors of the Dollmaker and his dolls and became convinced that her sister was one of them. Emily decided to visit the Dollmaker to ask him about her sister.

When she arrived at the Dollmaker's cottage, she found him sitting in his rocking chair, surrounded by dolls of all shapes and sizes. The Dollmaker welcomed her in and offered her tea. As they sat and talked, Emily couldn't shake the feeling that something was not right. The dolls seemed to be watching her with their glass eyes, and she could have sworn she heard them whispering.

The Dollmaker explained that the dolls were his children and that he loved them more than anything in the world. He told her that her sister had come to the village years ago, and that she had become one of his dolls. Emily was horrified and tried to leave, but the Dollmaker wouldn't let her go. He locked her in the cottage and told her that she would be his next doll.
