Year 6 - You'll Be Okay

Once the morning arrived and we both woke up and were dressed I undid the charm and unlocked the door. Hermione had my T-shirt on as we headed down for breakfast with the others and as we ate Ginny was giving me a few very smug looks. She no doubt saw that Hermione was wearing my top and her being her instantly knew why I swear that girl is way too mature for her age. I just gave her a small smile since I knew that she won't tell anyone and lying wouldn't work on her. It was after breakfast that all the others arrived like Lupin with Tonks and a few other members of the order sadly Sirius couldn't make it.

"I'm surprised that you are here Professor the cycle will start soon right," I said.

"Please call me Remus and yes but I won't be staying long, although I'm glad you have kept up to date with the Luna cycle," Remus said.

"Well it is good to see you," I said.

"How is your mother I was sorry to hear about your father," Remus said.

"She is fine still hasn't left the room since we arrived," I said and Remus gave my shoulder an understanding pat.

After a little more mingling with the guests I snuck upstairs to check on my gift for Hermione, it was nothing crazy but I knew she would love it. I was just about to enter our room when Ginny appeared blocking my access to the room.

"Ginny," I said innocently.

"Don't be all innocent we both know what I want to talk about with you," Ginny said.

"And we both know that Y/N is far too much of a respectable guy to actually tell you anything," Hermione said.

"Awwww come on please at least tell me if you enjoyed it," Ginny said.

"Sorry but she has spoken better luck next time," I said ruffling Ginny's hair.

The next day was Christmas day my mother actually came down to spend the day and give out the presents she had got for me. She had got me a few things that would just help me fit in more in the muggle world as I did enjoy spending time there. Hermione had also got me something she got me a pendant one that matched hers they would also glow when we were close. I gave her the box and she pulled out a red scarf she was confused before I told her to put it on and she did. 

"What the-," Hermione said.

"I enchanted the scarf so that when you wear it you will install begin to feel warmer," I said.

Hermione looked at the scarf and soon she blushed red and pulled me in for a hug I gave her a kiss on the cheek and she smiled nuzzling into my shoulder. 

As the night dragged on I found myself talking with the Order about what Draco has been up to not that I wanted to but someone had to tell them.

"Voldemort has chosen Draco Malfoy for a mission?" Remus said as Harry told the what happened at the party. 

"I know it sounds mad," Harry said.

"Has it occurred to you, Harry, that Snape was simply pretending to offer Draco help so he could find out what he was up to?" Remus said.

"That's not what it sounded like," Harry said.

"Perhaps Harry is right, Remus. I mean, to make an Unbreakable Vow--" Tonks said but was cut off.

"It comes down to whether or not you trust Dumbledore's judgment. Dumbledore trusts Snape, therefore, I do," Remus said.

 "Dumbledore can make mistakes. He said so himself," Harry said.

"You are blinded by hatred," Remus said.

"I'm not," Harry said.

"Yes, you are. People are disappearing, Harry. Daily. We could only place our trust in a handful of people. If we started fighting amongst ourselves, we're doomed," Remus said before he walked off.

"You'll have to forgive Remus. It takes its toll, his condition," Tonks said before following him.

"Are you alright, Mr Weasley?" I said seeing the look on his face. 

"We're being followed, all of us. Most days, Molly doesn't leave the house. It's not been easy," Arther said

"Did you get my owl?" Harry said.

"Yes, I did. If Dumbledore is travelling, then perhaps news to the Ministry, but perhaps that's the way Dumbledore wants it. As for Draco Malfoy... I know a bit more," Arther said.

"Go on," Harry said.

"I sent an agent to Borgin and Burkes. I think from what you described... What you and Ron saw at the end of summer, the object that Draco is so interested in, is a Vanishing Cabinet," Arther said.

"A "Vanishing Cabinet"?" Harry said.

"They were all the rage when Voldemort first rose to power. You can see the appeal. Should the Death Eaters come knocking, one simply has to slip inside and disappear for an hour or two. It transports you practically anywhere. Tricky contraptions, though. Very temperamental," Arther said.

"What happened to it? The one at Borgin and Burkes?" I asked.

"Nothing. It's still there," Arther said. 

I sat in a chair Hermione on my lap as I watched Remus say goodbye to Molly but something seemed off. Suddenly my fears came true as Bellatrix appeared and conjured a ring of fire around the house as two other death eaters appeared. I saw Harry run out the door after her as Remus tried to stop him I ran out with Remus and Tonks to help dispel the fire. I noticed Ginny go after Harry no doubt as we still wrestled with the flames I saw Mr and Miss Weasley go after their Daughter. Just as we got done with the flames around the house the Death eaters burst through the house luckily everyone got out everyone but MY MOM. I didn't see her around and remembered that she had gone back to bed early I fell to my knees and soon the others realized why. Hermione came and put her arms around me as Harry and the others returned I clutched onto her and let out a scream of anger and sadness as I head my head in her chest.

"You'll be okay," I heard her say.
