"Detective Brawnly! Did you hear! Agent Kassel, and the Box team, are making a bust on the Calvinos on Monday. We got new intell about some big drug shipment, and we're

intercepting it. Don't tell anyone, though. It's top secret; only the detectives are allowed to know." Agent Emily Benson divulged-not-so-quietly.

Courtney scoffed silently, leave it to Emily Benson give out completely top-secret information in the middle of the copy and break room, of course they weren't actually making copies, they had people to do that for them, they were enjoying their break and gossiping. And Benson didn't even notice Courtney was in the room, as she poured her coffee and gossiped. Benson was lucky that Courtney was the only other person in the room, or else there went that top-secret plan. Courtney delighted when detective Samuel Brawnly rudely shushed the young, hyper one, putting her in her place.

Courtney never liked Benson. They graduated college together, both with a degree in criminal justice. They also went through training together. They both climbed the ranks together at the same time, both trying to prove themselves. They had been rivals for years, with Courtney always being in the lead. But unfortunately, when it came time for promotions, Benson got the job as detective, on the Box team no less: the most elite drug-cracking team the FBI has, instead of her. Although she was given their most menial tasks, it was still prestigious. Only the best of the got to be a part of that team. And the reason why Courtney was passed over for a shot with the big guys? Her meddling step-father thought it was too soon for a field job.

This Blabbering of a top secret raid was the perfect example of why Benson was not qualified to be on the most important research and action squad, the Box team. And she was certainly not better than Courtney herself. The only way to get herself even a chance to be on the team, would be if

She got the okay from her step-father; the FBI director. And that was not likely.

At least she had detective Brawnly to help her. He was amazing, the older man took her under his wing and secretly taught her the true art of the FBI, and what it really meant to serve the people and honoring her badge. When her step-dad refused to even let her learn, much less live it. She could merely wish that her step-father would take a page out of Brawnly's book and see what she truly wanted, instead of playing daddy-of-the-year by trying to keep her with mundane tasks, like making stupid copies of audit reports, and not the real action.

Benson continued her babbling about the raid. Probably trying to make Courtney jealous by showing her exactly what she didn't have. Because she was not yet trusted. Because her step-father was making last-ditch attempts to be "protective" almost like a real dad.

Then right in that moment Courtney had a brilliant idea. One that would prove her prowess, and that she was a reliable agent, much better than Benson, and others like her. it would show her step-dad she was just as good, if not better, than any other agent, and was worthy

enough to be on the elite squad, called The Box.

She would put her self on the Calvino case! That way they would see first hand all she could do for them. Especially on a case like this one. The team could certainly use her knowledge and skills. Usually the first drug bust of a certain ring were pretty routine. They were the lower downs and the pawns that The Box team used for intell on the king pins. But Courtney knew it was better to have more hands on deck, just incase things went south.

On Monday night she would sneak out and follow her step-father to the site. Then she would show him all the things she learned, her impressive skills, and what Brawnly had shown her. She would some way to help them them out and prove her worth. But today was Thursday, only four days left to complete her plan. She must get working and researching, now.

She stood there, in the middle of the copy room, for at least ten minutes. So far her plan seemed brilliant, use her step-fathers computer to learn everything about the Calvino mafia. She would take her standard issue gun and follow the squad on Sunday night. There, she would do some small deed, and blow it out of proportion as if she saved the whole mission, making her step-father proud she was there. Then she would spout off some information about the Calvinos, showing how knowledgable she was about the case. It seemed pretty fool-proof to her. And if anyone questioned why she was there, she could say her step-father put her on the case, it was his jurisdiction after all. After minutes upon minutes of standing there, plotting her glory, she left the tiny copy room, determined to never have to make another copy here again. Walking to her desk with new found pep, she packed up her brief case and heavy duty stapler and rushed out of puny cubicle, needing to get and early start on her research. Sprinting to elevator she smiled wickedly knowing this would be the last time she would ever make another stupid copy again.
