I unlock the front door to the apartments and begin to cimb the stars to 221b when i hear John and Sherlock talking.

"Is that three patches?" John says

"It's a three-patch problem" Sherlock answers him.

ah, yes his beloved nicotine patches.

"Well? You asked me to come. I'm assuming it's important."

"yes, uhm" He looks around the room. "wheres y/n?"

"I dunno, she walked off"

"where?"

"i dunno"

"why"

"I. DONT. KNOW"

"well i left her with you, she must be with you"

"shes not my sister"

"close enough"

"i help you pay rent"

I walk in just at that moment i walk in.

"ah, y/n there you are"

"hi" i say

"is that it?" John asked Sherlock

"Oh, yeah, of course. Can I borrow your phone?"

"My phone?"

"Don't wanna use mine. Always a chance that the number will be recognised. It's on the website."

"Mrs Hudson's got a phone."

"eah, she's downstairs. I tried shouting but she didn't hear."

"Y/n's got a phone"

"well, i didn't expect her to arrive with you did i?"

"BUT YOU JUST SAID-" John takes and deep breath. "I was the other side of London."

"There was no hurry."

"Here." John says stubbornly, placing the phone in sherlock's hand

"So what's this about – the case?" I ask

"Her case."

"Her case?" John asks

"Her suitcase, yes, obviously." I say

"The murderer took her suitcase. First big mistake." Sherlock added

"Okay, he took her case. So?" John said

" It's no use, there's no other way. We'll have to risk it." Sherlock mutters "On my desk there's a number. I want you to send a text." handing the phone back to john.

John looked at him in disbelief. "You brought me here ... to send a text."

"that's sherlock holmes for you" i say and Sherlock glares at me. "crybaby" i mutter under my breath.

"Text, yes. The number on my desk." Sherlock says to john

John takes the phone but instead looks out of the window.

"What's wrong?" Sherlock asks, noticing him not texting.

"Just met a friend of yours"

i furrow my eyebrows in confusion, as does sherlock.

"A friend?"

"an enemy"

I let out a laugh "Which one?" i ask

"arch-enemy, according to him, do people have arch-enemies?"

"Did he offer you money to spy on me?"
