Lunch Break

It was a normal day in The Museum, nothing quite happening, unfortunately that is the normal for them. Despite being in the middle of an exciting city, not much of the relics can be found in old texts. The researcher Amy sits in a tiny crowded and musty office in the back corner of the museum. Amy groans aloud, putting away another dusty old tome filled with scriptures of The Great Old Beasts of the city. Apparently, each beast was formed by Endless War's own slime and sought out to bring forth strange key features to the city. Once they had their mission accomplished it go missing deep below the earth. Although interesting nothing could really be said about the one thing people kept pestering her and her co-worker Hoss about, Hints. The gangsters of the city LOVED hints, so much so it was a common occurrence that they'd show up demanding new hints. Hints they did not have. Before she could pick up another tome from the stack on top of her crowded desk a loud knock sounded on her door.

"What is it?" Amy replies, the annoyance clear in her tone of voice. Despite being normally chipper when dealing with visitors, an unannounced visitor while she's researching tends to irritate her.

"CHEERS AMY, I'M HERE TO ANNOUNCE TO YOU IT'S YOUR LUNCH BREAK" Hoss, her co-worker announces cheerfully. "COME ALONG NOW I BROUGHT YOU A SMASHING HIT OF A DISH."

Amy's ears perked up at this, the curator was a strange fellow, a bit of a chaotic doofus to her, but still a sweetheart. Hearing he had brought her a lunch made her slightly uneasy. She just knew it had to be some prank. Somthing strange, it had to be somthing strange. Maybe it was killiflower and poketuber salad in monster bone aspic. No, wait, that would be too sinister. Not even Hoss would be evil enough to prepare Amy somthing like that. Amy shudders slightly thinking it could be "Gamer's Delight". A spicy cheesy chip crust and pure jello-fied mountain dew soda. A crime against humanity and her taste buds. A local "delicacy" that the curator had taken a liking to, Amy had often seen Hoss bring it over to the potlucks that the museum held for its employees.  But as she left her dusty office and followed the much taller curator through the Museum's halls, she smelled somthing tantalizing. Upon reaching the employees only lunch lounge Hoss does an extravagant bow, opening the door for Amy with a dramatic flourish.

"YOUR DINING AWAITS MY LADY" Hoss announced loudly, sporting an obnoxious fancy accent upon his already present and strange accent. To this Amy rolls her eyes at Hoss' dramatics and gives him a sly smirk. Playing along she bows dramatically back to him.

"You are first your fancy-ness." in a mock fancy accent indulging Hoss in his tomfoolery today.

Giggling they race through the door together; a fancy meal was laid out on the employee table. Or well as fancy as they could make it on their measly museum salary. It was seafood from The Red Mobster joint not too far away. Laid across the table was a picnic blanket as a mock tablecloth with Lobster tails and steak on-top of frilled plates and a bottle of cabernet slimengeion sits in a bucket of ice. The room is slightly lit with the loud buzzing of the overhead light but a cheesy looking candelabra with electric candles buzz slightly in the middle of the table. This is nothing like what Amy expected from The Curator at all. This was really nice, she almost feels guilty thinking that this is some kind of prank. Amy stands there shocked looking at the table and her sight shifting slightly to Hoss and back to the table blushing slightly. Hoss taps her shoulder bringing her back to reality.

"AMY MY DEAR? YOU LOOK FRAZZLED, IS SOMTHING NOT TO YOUR LIKING?" Hoss asks, his voice shaking slightly with anxiety.

He coughs slightly trying to play it off as somthing caught in his throat instead. He was so nervous about making sure the luncheon was a good one, Amy worked so hard all the time. While he was out in the front of taking care of the more business side of things, accepting donations or selling things in the gift shop. Amy was either giving tours or deep into a tome extracting as much information as she could. She was unstoppable when she got herself into a researching rhythm, although incredible to see and certainly impressive, it often ends up with her burned out and exhausted. The curator tries his best to distract her from time to time with "mandatory breaks" causing mischief to try and keep her from getting too enthralled to avoid burnout. Even though this usually ends up with her groaning at a terrible joke he made, Hoss believes that Amy appreciated his antics from time to time. Snapping back to reality and trying to hide the blush spreading across her face, Amy gestures to the table.
