{Chapter 54}
Aaron and Melinda walked in and were about to head to the conference room when Strauss walked over. She gestured to Melinda that she needs to talk to her in private. Aaron gave Melinda's hand a squeeze before heading to the conference room to be debriefed on the case. Melinda followed Strauss to her office and they sat down.
"You used to pilot the planes in SHIELD, correct?" Strauss asked
Melinda nodded, "Correct."
Strauss smiled, "I need you to pilot your plane for this case. Your normal pilots wife just had her baby and he's taking paternity leave for a couple days. Will that be ok?"
Melinda nodded, "Of course."
"That's all agent. Good luck on your case." Strauss replied
Melinda nodded and walked out towards the conference room to hear the case be explained. Daisy smiled at her mom as Melinda walked to stand behind her chair.
"We're heading to Georgia. Two men killed in the span of a month. Donovan Kusch and Charlie Burke." JJ explained
"Wheels up in 30." Aaron tells them all
Melinda walked away without saying a word about anything making Aaron look at her confused but then looked to Daisy. She shrugged in response as she didn't know anything. It wasn't long before the team left to get on the plane and there was no sign of Melinda.
"Is she not on the plane?" Spencer asked
"I'm here!" Melinda called out
She walked out of the cockpit and towards them with a small smile. Everyone looked at her confused on why she was back there.
"What-" Aaron went to ask
"Strauss asked me to fly the plane, since our original pilot is on paternity leave." Melinda explained
She pulled out her purple sunglasses and placed them on her face before waving at them all. She walked back into the cockpit and began preparing for them to fly.
"Can she even fly a plane?" Derek asked
"Yes, she flew our jets a lot in SHIELD." Daisy replied
She was playing with Spencer's fingers as she spoke, but he didn't seem to mind. Derek still was confused about the situation but eventually shrugged it off. Aaron stood up from his seat and walked to the cockpit to see Melinda pressing buttons and flipping switches.
