It' our fault.
It's our Fault
They tell us
We never Listen
To their racial slurs and sexist jokes thrown into the air like feathers of mass destruction because words don't hurt you.
It's our Fault
They tell us
We don't try hard enough
To become numbers on ranks and scales of weight and knowledge and popularity.
It's our Fault
They tell us
We don't sleep
To all the thoughts singing in our heads at 12am about how there are well over 365 reasons not to make it to the first of January.
It's our Fault
They tell us
We make bad choices
To take our minds off of the money we won't have, to pay for the things we are told we need, for a life we are forced to want.
It's our Fault
They tell us
We're unrealistic
To the point where we can't point out the truths from the lies that our brains have been washed out with like soap for swearing we will reach our dreams.
It's our Fault
They tell us
We dress wrong
To impress the people that judge us for the way we look because we're really just books needing to be raped?
It's our Fault
They tell us
We steal
To show revenge on our dreams that have been robbed from us as we sat staring off into space where they told us we could go if we wanted.
It's our Fault
They tell us
We smoke
To pollute our skies and the eyes of the brainwashed, so that we can't inhale the illogical common core ways of thinking.
It's our fault
They tell us
We are not perfect.
But neither are they.
