full moon
Along a street in the outskirts of the city, several dozen units of almost identical units were placed next to each other at a short distance. The electric light poles on both sides with yellow and orange lights had barely illuminated the deserted street. It was past midnight and the dried leaves of the trees were scattered on the ground.
A boy and a girl were walking side by side in the middle of the street. The boy reached into the pocket of his black coat and took out a packet of cigarettes, opened the door and looked inside while shaking it and said: "There is only one cigarette."
The girl, who was not paying attention, answered: "What?" »
"Do you want just one thread left? »
"No... Smoke it yourself"
After thinking for a moment, the boy returned the cigarette to his pocket. The weather was a bit cold and the girl put her hands in her coat pocket. As they walked, the girl turned her head to the sky and stared at it for a moment. He said to the boy: "Look at the moon...its full." The boy glanced up and said: "Hmm."
The girl who was staring at the moon said, "Wouldn't it be a shame if we didn't come out?" We couldn't see it then" she paused. He looked at the boy and continued, "We can't get bored anymore... we can buy something to eat."
The boy looked at the girl's brown eyes and said: "Because it's late, I said not to come out... maybe..."
The girl interrupted the boy: "I know... nothing will happen, don't worry so much."While walking, the girl's attention was drawn to the boy's hand, which was a little red due to the cold, and she said: "Your hands are freezing... put them in your pocket." The boy did not answer.
As they went, the bright lights of the buildings dimmed. From time to time, the sound of a cricket could be heard from an unknown place.
The girl stopped moving, bent down and shook her shoes: "My feet hurt, I shouldn't have worn these... They aren't good for walking at all" the boy answered: "You should have worn sneakers."When they went further, they reached some half-finished buildings under construction on the right side of the street. Next to the buildings, small hills of sand and cement were seen along with shovels and picks, and the smell of tar was in the air. A brown cat with black spots came towards them. Seeing the cat, the girl sat down: " Come... come here, Hey... don't go." The cat ran away after hearing the howling of the dog coming from the direction of the building ruins.
A man in black was standing next to a burning tin barrel with his hands outstretched towards the fire. The boy whose attention was drawn to him said: "It's not interesting."
"What? What is not interesting? »
"There, that guy... suspicious"
The girl noticed the man, but said nothing. As they were standing, they saw two dogs. One of them was white and was grinding his teeth together, the other one had a wound in the corner of his eye and a little foam was hanging from his mouth. The dogs slowly and barking went towards them.
The boy said: "Let's go" and took the girl's hand.
The girl said: "No...don't move" and stretched out her slightly trembling hand towards the dogs as a gesture of caressing.
The boy who had heart palpitations kept looking around. He said slowly, "I told you that this hour is dangerous, you didn't listen"
"Now is not the time for these words"
We could be at home now instead of two dogs..."
« Can you finish it! »
The boy put his hand on his face with worry and anxiety. The dogs were two steps away from them, the boy took two or three steps back. A dog with foam hanging from its mouth jumped towards the boy and grabbed the corner of his coat with its teeth. The boy shouted and shook his coat to get the dog to release him, but it was useless; The girl was scared. At that moment, a whistle was heard in the darkness, causing the dogs to return to the ruins from which they had come.
The girl looked at the ruins and said: "There is no man... he was there just now."
The boy said: "Let go, we got lucky... run."
So who blew the whistle? "If it wasn't for him"
"I do not know "Both of them walked away from there with fast steps. The girl, who was panting and her feet were limping because of her shoes, stood on the street and turned to the boy: "Let me rest for a minute" then sat on the table next to the sidewalk.
After looking around, the boy turned to the girl and said: "Did you see?" Didn't I tell you? »
"You are always grumbling, you are giving off negative energy, otherwise we would have had fun"
"Must it be my fault? »
The girl did not say anything and looked away from the boy.
The boy said: "If that guy did something... if something happened..."
The girl interrupted him and said: "Shut up...stop it."Both were silent for a few minutes. Until the girl said: "Give me the cigarette."
The boy sat next to the girl and gave her the cigarette along with the lighter. The girl lit a cigarette and then gave some packs to the boy and said: "Do you want it too?" »
The boy answered: "No."
« Any comfort »
The boy sat next to the girl and waited for her to finish smoking.
The girl said: "You were scared, weren't you?" »
" No "
« I was scared »
After she smoked the cigarette, the girl extinguished it with the edge of the stone , then got up and the boy followed her. They reached a shop whose shutters were pulled down halfway. They both went inside and after a few minutes they left with plastic bags containing milk, cake, ice cream and some other food items and walked towards the house. A light wind had moved the leaves on the ground. The moon appears full, round and shined than before. The boy looked at the girl's feet and said: "Wait"
The girl stood up, the boy took off his shoes and held them towards the girl and said: "Put these on."
The girl gave a secret smile and put on the boy's shoes and said: "Admit, you were scared."
"Let's go home" said the boy with a smile.
They set off.
