Stuck. That was the only word. Stuck. Maybe trapped would work well too. Even the word Wrong could fit in this case. For what even was the problem? Look into their eyes, their lives, their hearts and maybe if you look, you will see.For an oak tree should not be planted in the house. As it grew it would one day grow enough to realize "this place doesn't fit. It's not for me."It was hard to dig it up, but eventually they did. They placed it outside and it grew to be what it was intended to be. It grew to its full potential.
"What does an oak tree have to do with anything?" you may wonder. It's like me. Like many in the world. How am I like an oak tree in a house? It's a simple answer. Because I'm stuck. I'm stuck where I shouldn't be. Like an oak cannot grow inside the wrong place, neither can i. Neither can a lot of us.
Body. What's a body to you? Short Or tall? White or black? For most people there is one thing their bodies have in common. They are right. What does that mean? You may struggle with your body type or color. But is it wrong or just something you haven't accepted?
Wrong. What's wrong? If color and shape are not wrong, what is? What about your body could be wrong? Easy, it's not just the body but the soul in the body. You in the body. For some of us, it doesn't match, for most of us, it does. Boys born boys. Match. Girls born girls. Match. But what about boys born as girls? Girls born as boys? People who are inbetween and still stuck in a body that isn't their match. How could that be right? It's not.
Some people understand this. Some people do not. Some people who feel this are put down because of it. Told it was their choice. Told what they're "supposed" to be. Told they are wrong and for what? Accepting that their body isn't them?
You know who you are most. So do they. You cannot accurately tell someone who they are unless you have their mind, body and soul. Basically, unless you are them. Sure, you may know their patterns and tendencies. But do you know why they do what they do if they do not say a word? No.
Trapped. In a world of hate, many of us feel trapped. Judgment, hatred, lack of acceptance, rejection. That is what many of us face. Some deal with it by copeing and some to be blunt, kill themselves over the pressure. In our community, the trans community, our suicide rate is 41%. Some kill themselves over regret, others abuse and others feeling unaccepted and treated with pure hate and rejection. Nobody wants to face that so many of us don't. They stay trapped. Trapped as someone they are not.
How does it make you feel when you see how many lives are taken. For that is nothing more than a percentage, imagine the actual number of people. Imagine you had a chance to do something. Would you? Would you walk away? Why? Try reflecting on that. Imagine your one action saving a life. Would you give that away because someone is different then you? Would you take that chance? What would you do?
