The sun rises.
Xavier awakens pretty early, a few minutes before his alarm was going to go off. He had the alarm set as he had things planned to do today, such as going to the local cafe to get some drinks with Oliver. He thought that since there was a few minutes left, he could try and get some more rest. Xavier snuggled up back under the covers and into sleep.
A few minutes later, his alarm went off, he groaned and got up from his bed, putting on his monocle.
He would usually start his day by feeding his cats, in which, he had about 12 of them. He would always prepare them wet food. After that, he would usually make some tea for himself, but decided he wouldn't today, since, you know, the cafe. He opened the window and looked outside, it was so early the sky was still a medium dark blue. Walking over to the coat-hanger, he thought it would be nice to get ready a little earlier, in fact, that's why he set his alarm in the first place. He put on his cape and hat, adjusting it a little, then sat on his bed and waited.
It wasn't long before his phone started ringing. It was Oliver, he must have been awake and ready to go by now. He answered.
"Hello, Oliver! How are you doing today? Are you all set?" Xavier tried his best to sound enthusiastic, even while tired.
"Hello Xavier, I'm doing good, and yes I am all set, do you want to head out to the cafe now?" Oliver replied. You could tell he was tired too. Xavier thought about the possibility Oliver pulled an all-nighter right before this, and that was why he sounded tired. Or it could just be the same as Xavier, waking up at an alarm makes him tired.
"Yes, I'll go to the cafe now, you don't have to pick me up with your car, I can walk there."
"Ah, okay, see you there Xavier" Oliver ended the call, and Xavier got up and went out the door. Before he fully left though, he made sure to say goodbye to all his cats, then closed and locked the door.
Xavier started his walk to the cafe. It was a bright and sunny day once the sun had fully risen. He hummed to himself a little tune he made up. As he walked, he watched as the objects walked around the city, going in stores or just talking with each other. He was still very tired from waking up so early, but he was sure that some tea from the cafe would wake him up. Maybe even after this, he and Oliver could go work on the case together, even if he was a paranormal detective and Oliver was a normal detective. He was so caught up in his thoughts that he didn't realize that he was approaching the cafe. He quickly snapped out of his own thoughts and walked up towards the cafe, he saw Oliver in the distance. Oliver noticed Xavier and waved at him, then walked a bit faster to meet up with him.
"Hello again, Xavier."
"Hello!"
"I have some seats reserved for us already, I hope you don't mind"
"Not at all!"
The seats were outside, there were some seats inside the cafe too, though. Xavier and Oliver sat at an outside table, which had two chairs for the both of them. Xavier sparked up a conversation as they were waiting for the waiter to come ask them what drinks they wanted.
"So... Did you find any leads on the case yet?"
"Not yet. I'm still looking through some of the files, have you found anything?"
Xavier laughed a bit. "Oh not yet. You know me, Oliver, I am quite off-task sometimes. Not to mention its a bit hard to find what kind of spirit it is with not much evidence."
Oliver smiled when Xavier mentioned the "off-task" part.
"Only sometimes? I found you sleeping in your chair once!" Oliver said light-heartedly. They both laughed at that. The waiter soon came to the table and asked the two what they wanted. Oliver got himself an espresso, while Xavier had just ordered some tea and strawberry cake. The drinks and cake arrived rather quickly, and there was little conversation worth noting in between ordering and getting the drinks and cake.
Xavier was eating the cake and drinking his tea, with Oliver on the other side of the rounded table drinking his espresso. Xavier thought for only a quick second that this was kind of strange, a rounded table at a cafe with only you and your friend going. It seems like those date ideas you'd see somewhere. He quickly pushed away the thought. It's really weird to think about that when you're just getting something to drink in the morning with your friend. Xavier took a bite of his strawberry cake. Oliver and Xavier talked for a bit, but its nothing worth really noting. Just the boring, usual work stuff about the case.
At the end, when they were both finished, Xavier insisted that he paid for the drinks, even if it was Oliver's idea. Oliver eventually let him pay, even if he didn't feel like it was fair.
As Xavier got up and he and Oliver got up and they said goodbye to each other. They were about to head back to where they were originally (Which for Oliver, would probably be the office), when Xavier remembered something.
"Ah, wait! Oliver!"
Oliver turned around. "Hm?"
"Do you want to hang out at the office later today? Just to talk and communicate about stuff we've found."
"Oh, yea. Sure!" Oliver smiled "See you later, Xavier!"
They both walked off. Later that day, they did both hang out together. Talking about stuff from the case, but also some of their interests too.
Eventually, Xavier and maybe Oliver went home, and the sun set.
