It had seemed everyone had left the office early and by everyone I mean the two other demons who worked there. Business was slow today and there were only a few fuckers we had to get rid of. We made quick work of the target, a business woman who had apparently screwed over a rival of hers, although there was her bodyguard to deal with. I wasn't completely sure, but I'm led to believe Blitzø killed the bodyguard too. Oh well, work was work and I was happy to continue spending the day working with Moxxie.
Speaking of, for the past couple of weeks he's been a little more... anxious? Upset? Whatever it was, I didn't like it one bit. I had immediately gone on the search for something that would put a genuine smile on my honey's face and waited until today to surprise him. I know Moxxie's not super on board when I do things like these, but he's such a gentleman that I might as well repay him for his love.
As I walked out of the meeting room into the dim halls of the building, I saw Moxxie waiting by the elevator door. I found myself feeling a bit more excited than usual. "Ready to go home, dear?" I asked. Moxxie nodded.
"Yeah. I've actually been meaning to show you a new song I've been working on before bed but guessing from Blitzø's words, I don't think we'll ever get the proper privacy to do so," Moxxie said, frowning. We stepped into the elevator and I tapped on the button labeled with 1.
"A new song? You haven't been playing for a while."
"Well with dull work coming in and the knowledge that Blitzø himself has been out of the ordinary it's been interesting. But I want to share this song with you soon."
"I'm afraid it might have to wait until tomorrow," I said, a mischievous grin etching itself onto my face. Moxxie gave me a look of concern as we stepped out of the cool elevator and out onto the parking lot. "I know you don't like surprises that much but you've been so sad lately and it's made me worry. To cheer you up I may have been able to snatch two tickets to that new opera you've been meaning to see."
Moxxie looked stunned at first and it worried me for a few seconds before a smile appeared on his face. "You mean L'amour Midnight? Are you serious? But I don't think I still have a nice suit and I'm under prepared to go see it and-"
"Mox, everything will be okay. Think of it as a treat from me to you. I promise nothing can go wrong."
Moxxie gave me a doubtful look. I cupped his cheek and kissed it lightly.
"Now promise me that you'll enjoy yourself."
"I will."
"Then this night shall be perfect."
It was then I could've sworn I heard something being knocked over. As I turned to see what the noise was, I saw a red tail fly out of sight.

The opera house was bustling with excited imps and sinners that were all eager to see the production. It was a rather rare occasion to see hell so peacefully especially with all of these demons in the same space. Moxxie and I had taken our seats and he had proceeded to inform me on the origin of the opera and how it was adapted from a long series of novels that were in the possession of very high ranked demons before it was stolen. As I smiled and listened in on his vast knowledge on the topic I heard a familiar voice from behind. I had pretended to not notice but the slightest sliver of dread pooled in my stomach. It couldn't be...
The lights began to dim and the curtains opened to begin the opera. As it played out I began to get the growing suspicion that a certain imp was also here. I didn't mind but Moxxie would and that bothered me knowing that this day would also be ruined.
