"Are you sure you want to go alone? That region is known for being extremely cold."
Rosalyn crossed her arms and stared at Choi Han, silently urging him to be rational and take at least one more person with him.
"I have to. Everyone else has their own tasks to finish before the deadline. I completed mine early, so I'm fine going alone. It's not like I'll be in any danger."
"... Choi Han, I hope you won't underestimate the Northern region's weather just because you are a swordmaster. Even strong people can fall to hypothermia."
Choi Han clicked his tongue. "I'm smart enough to not get hypothermia. Besides, with my morning and evening training It will be hard to not break a sweat."
For some reason Rosalyn was looking at him as if he was stupid. Choi Han lost a bit of confidence, but continued talking.
"I promise I won't die, so please teleport me."
"... You are an idiot sometimes. Don't you dare sweat while in those mountains, that's exactly how to get hypothermia."
"? But then how will I train?"
Choi Han's voice slowly got quieter as he watched Rosalyn hold out a spatial bag for him to take.
"Inside this is a temperature regulating cloak, a communication device, food, water, money, and any other essentials you might need. I have a gut feeling that you will do something stupid, so I prepared this for you. Don't lose it."
Choi Han decided to stop talking. Anything he would say might make Rosalyn change her mind. He nodded his head and received the bag, said goodbye one final time, and was teleported to the bottom of the northernmost mountain range in the western continent.
'The skies are clear, I guess the weather here is just cold. There should be no other natural dangers to worry about.'
He stretched his muscles for a few minutes before jumping onto the shortest mountain. He was on the lookout for any suspicious behavior or hidden enemy hideouts.
As he continued jumping around the mountain, he noticed the wind chill wasn't that bad at all. In fact, the bright sun made it feel like early spring or late fall with a chilly breeze. It was only around the two hour mark that he noticed something strange.
'Is that a path?'
He squinted to see through the bright sunlight and snow glare. A carved path could be seen running along the sunny side of the mountain. Perhaps this would be easier than he thought.
He jumped off of his foothold and headed straight towards that area. The spatial bag bounced against his right hip as he moved. He landed safely in the middle of the wide path, making sure to not lose his balance on the snowy rock texture, and glanced around with his hand on the hilt of his sword.
'What is that?'
A small structure could be seen sitting on the path somewhere to his right. It almost looked like a tiny wooden house, but with his sharp eyes, Choi Han recognised it as a well roof. The only strange thing was that the roof was broken off and laying a good distance away from the actual well, which also happened to be completely in the ground.
Usually there is a short stone wall placed around a well so that people and animals would not fall in on accident, but this one had no such feature. Choi Han walked up to it and discovered that the only thing covering this well was a wooden lid. There was also a light dusting of snow and moss.
'Do people never come up here? This area looks abandoned.'
His mood sank as he realized that there was a good chance that this was an old mining road and not an enemy path.
