Allison's POV

I don't really know why we were actually fighting but I was still annoyed by Michael.

The fact that my father showed up, apparently staying the night (wow, that made me cringe) didn't lift my mood in any way.

Everything was better than being home when James was there; even staying at Michael's place when we were mad at each other was a price I was willing to pay.

The car ride was very silent and I was extremely pissed off by the fact that I let him hold me earlier in the moment of shock and disappointment. He wasn't supposed to hold me when he actually refused to properly talk to me or treat me decently.

"Would you maybe consider using the breaks once we reach a traffic light?" I mumured angily, tightly holding onto the handle in the passenger's door whenever he sped up as soon as the lights went from yellow to red.

"Where's the fun in that?" he asked back awkwardly, apparently also confused about how to react since he was also angry at me. "I don't see a point in doing what everyone expects me to do"

My eyes narrowed in annoyance, disbelive and (I had to admit it) even a little bit of concern to his recklessness.

"That has nothing to do with obeying rules, Dumbass. You don't just risk your own life - as well as mine - but also the ones from the people who cross your way!"

He remained silent - what could he possibly answer to that anyway?

I was in rage again. Maybe not even because of his stupidity only but also because my parents just wouldn't leave my mind.

How was Mom naive enough to let him back into her life? I didn't even want to know what has happened during the time she "had not other choice" other than sleeping at James's apartment when she was in Florida two months ago.

"What's wrong?" Michael asked out of the blue and I instantly dropped the finger I was chewing on to meet his eyes.

My eyesbrows were tensed aggressively but I tried to put on a relaxed expression, to not leave my anger out on him (more than I already did).

"Tired..." I mumured, fishing my phone out of the little black leather bag which's strap was hanging over my shoulder.

"I better tell Ashton, I don't feel like going out" I mumured, scanning my contacts to find his name.

Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed how Michael did his best to look bored but as soon as he turned to the side, I knew he was smirking gloatingly for jilting his friend.

"Don't be a dick." I shot him a glare, as I pressed the phone to my ear, only gaining a slight laughter.

"Hey, are you already at the movies? I know I'm late" I apologized right away after receiving a cheerful "Hello Allison!"

He chuckled at the other line.

"No. Is there a problem?" I could hear the toothy grin he sure had put on whilst asking this.

"Erm...well..." I got cut off right away.

"He's there, isn't he?" Ashton laughed into my ear and I bend my head in confusion.

"What? Who? What are you talking about?"

Ashton giggled. "I knew he was there. I TOLD YOU LUKE, IT WORKED!"

My eyes flicked over to Michael but right back at the street in front of us.

"Wait, you aren't even on the way, are you?"
