Wednesday had expected Enid to come back from her date with Ajax unnaturally excited and ready to subject her to the torture that was retelling every insignificant detail about how her night had gone, and she had prepared accordingly.

But Enid didn't return with a bang, she came back with a thud.

The sound of the door closing was barely audible. Instead of going to the balcony, where Wednesday was, and where she supposed Enid would follow, the other girl made a beeline for her bed. The werewolf let herself fall on top of her colorful bedsheets, face down. She didn't move after that.

If Wednesday didn't know any better, she'd think her roommate was dead. From outside the window, the young Addams could see Enid's shoulders shaking. She was crying.

"Thing," Wednesday whispered, "get the nail gun"

The disembodied hand scurried along inside the room as soon as Wednesday cracked the window open. If Enid heard them come in, she didn't show it.

"Where is he?"

It was a simple question, but Enid wasn't answering. She was slumped on the bed, face down, sobbing. Wednesday stepped closer to the girl's bed.

"Enid, if you tell me where he is, it would save me the trouble of checking every room in the school"

Muffled words made its way to Wednesday's ears. Mixed with more of Enid's crying.

She felt Thing tugging at the hem of her pants, and looked down. There laid a tissue box. After some confirmation from Thing that he'd keep looking for the nail gun, Wednesday grabbed the box and made her way to Enid's bed.

She sat down next to her roommate and placed the tissue box between them.

"I can't understand whatever it is you're saying" Wednesday's voice was a tad softer than usual.

Enid looked up at her, eyes red, make up ruined. She pulled herself together and climbed onto the bed, hugging her knees close to her chest.

"I said, I don't know where he is" The crack in Enid's voice pierced through Wednesday like lighting, "He stood me up"

Enid wasn't looking at the girl sitting right next to her. She didn't dare look. She could barely hold it together as it was, she didn't want to deal with the other girl's judgement.

And so, it came as a surprise when she felt herself being guided by a gentle touch to turn around, that same hand was used to keep her in place while Wednesday, tissue in hand, started to clean the tears off Enid's face.

Wednesday took this moment to take in her roommates' appearance. Enid's face was a mess, her clothes were disheveled, and her claws were out, the nail paint scraped in some parts. She wondered how that had happened.

After she deemed Enid's face clean enough, she released her from her grasp. And spoke:

"It's okay. His demise will be slow and painful"

A thud from the other side of the room caught their attention. Thing had finally found the nail gun.

"Perfect" Wednesday said, "Now all we have to do is find out where he's hiding"

Swiftly, she stood up and went to retrieve the nail gun. Storing it in her backpack before getting ready to leave.

"Wait, Wednesday" Enid managed to speak, in the midst of her confusion.

"Do you wish to come with?" the young Addams asked, "You don't have to, unless you want to take part in his suffering"

"No. I mean- I didn't... I thought you weren't for real"
