Enid's absence weighted on Wednesday every second that passed. Not that she would care to admit it, it would be admitting that she cared.

On top of that, as if not having Enid around wasn't torture enough, Wednesday had to endure the constant reminders of her departure.

Her ex-roommate kept returning time and time again, grabbing different items and then leaving. Every time Enid was near, Wednesday caught herself wanting to do... something. But by the time she even acknowledged the thought, the other girl had vanished once again.

Would Enid stay, if Wednesday asked her too?

But she wouldn't dare, even if Thing kept insisting she do it. Enid had made it clear that she was much happier rooming with Yoko, Wednesday wouldn't take that happiness from her.

Besides, it was too dangerous to be near Wednesday at the moment. More dangerous than her average, that is. She had already gotten two of her friends injured. Until the monster was discovered and dealt with, the young Addams would remain alone as she was.

Uncle Fester's visit helped distract her, and it also proved beneficial in moving along her investigation. She had a name for the beast now, a Hyde. And she knew now that it was a two-person job.

But the investigation wasn't enough to keep her from sending longing looks towards the empty side of her dorm room. Her eyes squinting at the explosion of colors. It wasn't her eyes that hurt the most, it was the reminder of the void inside her that Enid had left behind.

She was certain her uncle had caught up on it, or maybe Thing had told him when she wasn't looking. That's why he tried to cheer her up, assuring her that being a "lone wolf" was freeing, that not depending on anyone was a good thing. She agreed with him, to an extent, maybe less so nowadays than when she was younger.

Wednesday also knew that he was embellishing his lonely life for her sake.

She appreciated his efforts, fruitless as they were. He was trying his best.

She was his favorite, after all.

Still, Wednesday couldn't shake the constricting feeling in her ribcage, like a snake had made a home around her chest, compressing her lungs.

Enid's lingering presence had begun to leave the room, too.

Going out with Tyler would suffice to keep her mind off of everything for a couple of hours. That was Wednesday's reasoning. At least she wouldn't be cooped up in her room, with the constant reminder of the werewolf's absence.

That had taken a turn for the worst.

"So, how was your date with Tyler?"

Wednesday took a moment to process the question.

She had come back to her room to find Enid, and the werewolf had decided to move back in.

After existing without her for what felt like far too long, it was almost too much for her at the moment. So full with Enid's presence that she had almost forgotten about the earlier events of the day.

Almost.

She still had Thing's blood on her hands, could almost taste the copper.

This hadn't been the best day for her, by far.

She had to admit, she was glad that Uncle Fester was here, she had no idea of what could have happened otherwise.

"It was interrupted" that was an honest answer. It was the most Wednesday could say about the ordeal.
