Some torture was to be expected as part of a kidnapping. At the very least, some mild torture. It was like a package deal, kidnapping and torture. Perhaps a little maiming if you're feeling feisty.

That's what Wednesday thought. Unfortunately, her accomplices had thought differently.

She'd been so close to getting actual physical proof. She hadn't even drawn any blood from Tyler by the time the police arrived. He was barely bruised. Which is far less that what he had done to everyone else. To her family, her friends.

But that wasn't the only thing that made Wednesday's insides churn. No, what truly made her seethe was the fact that she was unable to do something about the Hyde now. Even worse, Tyler knew it, and he delighted on the fact that she was out of moves.

He smiled smugly at her in the safety of the police station, knowing that whatever she tried on him would end up with people turning on her rather than seeing what was right in front of them.

And now, she was to leave and never return. Expelled.

As she packed her things, she pondered.

Maybe this was for the best.

Maybe Xavier was right, even if he was emotionally wounded and lashing out at her when she went to visit. Whatever prophecy she was meant to be a part of couldn't be fulfilled if she wasn't here. Goody said she was the key. Well, a door can't be opened when the key is several miles away.

It brought her comfort to know that by leaving she was ensuring that whatever was supposed to happen, didn't.

A small comfort, but comfort nonetheless.

She was to be taken to the train station soon. She supposed her parents hadn't been notified of what happened. Given that it was a rather swift decision made the night before.

It only added to her displeasure. She pictured arriving home, only to have to explain her failure to her family. To tell them how she was defeated, cast away and openly mocked by the serial killer monster she had tried to take down.

That was to be a more shameful experience that just getting expelled again.

Wednesday quieted her inner thoughts and focused on what was left to do. Saying goodbye to Enid.

The werewolf hadn't made a sound. Not a peep from her side of the room since Wednesday was awake enough to notice. But she hadn't left either. Remaining as a steady, silent, presence while Wednesday packed.

It had been that way since the night before, too.

The young Addams thought of the most appropriate way to start a conversation like this. She wasn't sure of how to proceed. It wasn't every day that she was the one leaving, rather than the other way around.

Luckily for her, Enid was the one to start talking

"I've learned so much from you. Even though part of it is admittedly criminal behavior"

"A shame, really. I had yet to teach you the many ways to avoid law enforcement. Criminal behavior is best when it goes unnoticed"

It was Wednesday's way of saying how she wished they could have spent more time together.

That was something that Wednesday hadn't expected to come out of her time here. To find herself thinking of sharing her days with someone and not be consumed by dread, boredom or disgust. Why this exactly came to be, she hadn't given herself enough time to figure it out.

"What about you?" Enid looked at her while she asked, "Will you forget about me?"

Wednesday felt her insides stir up with an unknown sentiment. She tried not to dwell on it, she feared what she might find in her innards if she looked hard enough.
