Your room doesn't smell of death anymore"

"It wasn't that bad" Enid rolled her eyes.

She could still smell it. It would take a couple of days, maybe weeks, for her senses to stop picking up the subtle earthly smell that Wednesday carried around. Like a winter day spent at the cemetery.

Enid wondered if she'd notice once it was gone.

"How long since she left?" Yoko asked, perched on the doorframe.

"Like half an hour, I guess" Enid was sprawled on top of her bed. She glanced at her friend for a couple of seconds, then opened her eyes in realization, "right, come on in"

Yoko smiled as she stepped into the room. She glanced at the empty space Wednesday left behind, then at Enid's side of the room.

"Any last ominous warnings from our local goth?" She asked, "she still managed to order Bianca around before she left"

"She did?" Enid's curiosity was picked.

"Yeah, she was all 'you have to be prepared for what's coming'" Yoko said, trying her best at imitating the Addams, "sounded like she thinks we're all going to die now"

"She did take that prophecy seriously" Enid mussed, "and I mean, Tyler's still around so..."

"You really think he's the Hyde?"

"Yeah" Enid was sure of it by now, "she got expelled trying to prove it. Besides, I trust her"

Yoko observed the young werewolf for a few seconds, then sighed as she took her glasses off.

"Then it's no good for you to be all alone up here" Yoko motioned to the space around them, "try and keep someone around, yeah? You know I'm up all night"

"Right, thanks. I'll howl if I'm being brutally murdered" Enid laughed, despite the seriousness of the situation.

It wasn't like someone had been murdered in their dorm room, yet. But she was glad to know that Yoko was worried too.

"So... did she tell you anything else?" The vampire questioned.

"No, well" Enid paused, "her good bye was kind of- I asked her if she would miss me and she said the mark I left on her is indelible"

Enid chuckled, Wednesday had a cute way of complicating what she wanted to say.

"That's definitely something"

"Yeah, I guess it's her way of saying 'yes' while sounding all, y'know, how she usually sounds" Enid shrugged, smiling.

"No, I don't know how she 'usually' sounds" Yoko deadpanned, "But I'll trust you on this one"

The vampire winked before putting her sunglasses back on.

"Anyway, now that I know you're still alive and well, I'll go check on Divina. Howl if you miss me"

"Right, right, you guys have fun" Enid shooed her friend away.

The room was plunged into silence once Yoko closed the door behind her.

Enid had thought that it wouldn't be that bad to have the room all to herself again. She hadn't had a roommate before Wednesday, and they rarely spent that much time together in their room.

But, she had to admit that she never felt lonely with Wednesday, even if they were just existing in the same space.

Besides, Thing was a great honorary roommate, too.

She sighed, if only the other girl had a phone. Then this wouldn't feel so... so final. Maybe she should have asked for her address, become pen pals or something, that would have been fun.
