Morticia had been feeding her plants when it happened. Pugsley and Gomez were out fishing, she could hear the explosions from the greenhouse.
She had been assaulted with a terrible feeling. So much so that she stopped what she was doing, causing Cleopatra to growl in protest.
Something was wrong with Wednesday.
She quickly fed Cleopatra the rest of the meat, making sure she didn't choke. She cleaned up after that and made her way inside the house.
Grandmama was waiting for her outside the kitchen.
"You felt it too?" She asked, eager to know how they would proceed.
"Yes." Morticia said, "I'll sent Lurch to fetch Gomez and Pugsley. We must be prepared for anything."
"I'll pack my best curses" Grandmama said.
It was settled, they all would make the trip to Nevermore.
But it was not a quick trip for them. They'd go by hearse, of course. All of them were banned from any existent airlines. What's the point of express traveling when you can't bring anything fun with you?
Once Gomez and Pugsley had been alerted of the situation, they first tried to contact any of their relatives that could be closer to Wednesday. Crystal ball, morse code, ouija board, it took them a while to reach those who could be of help. But none of them would be able to make the trip to Nevermore. And none of them had any knew from Wednesday either.
"That rules out an escape" Gomez said, "something must have happened at school"
Morticia tried contacting Larissa, using their house phone, but she was unsuccessful.
This only confirmed that something was amiss.
They left a note, in case Fester showed up in their absence.
After packing anything that could be useful, hexes, blades and amulets. The Addams climbed on to the hearse and left for Nevermore.
In the cover of the night, they traveled. If nothing came up on the way, they would be arriving by dawn.
Morticia hoped it wasn't too late by then.
They spent their journey consoling each other, wondering what could have happened to their little scorpion, and sharpening each and every knife and dagger they had brought with them.
Morticia had been in the middle of a reading, trying to elucidate what could have affecter her daughter in such a way, when something else was revealed to her.
She was approached by a terribly familiar presence from the other realm.
"Surprise, betrayal, helplessness" She murmured.
Gomez turned to her, a question in his eyes.
"Larissa is dead"
"Do you think it had something to do with Wednesday?" Gomez asked, shaken.
"It appears to be, yes" Morticia lamented.
Try as they might, they could only travel so fast. But they had faith in Wednesday. After all, she was an Addams.

Galpin parked outside Nevermore a little bit after dawn. He was alone, his was still the only car with working tires.
The entire night was spent by watching closely over Tyler. Making sure he was restrained, a little overkill for a human, but it was to make sure the Hyde had no chance of escaping.
He had made some calls, to people that would not fin it odd to be contacted at such odd hours, and managed to arrange a high security team to come and take care of his son.
