CUT TO: MIDTOWN DISTRICT
INT. RADIO STATION - EARLY MORNING
TYNICE SIPS SOME OF HER COFFEE AND GETS THE SIGNAL FROM HER PRODUCER THAT SHE IS GOING ON THE AIR.
[Tynice]
Hey, y'all, it's your girl Tynice! How are y'all doing? Now, we've got a lot to get to talk about so I'm just going to get started. First, Shade must be in rare form because even with the new police chief they just still cannot catch this fool. I mean what is it going to take? You know, let me stop myself before I get too hot. However, Shade managed to apprehend Vectos a couple of days ago who was responsible for multiple crime rings, and subsequently has started a flurry of different radicalized movements.
[Co-host]
That might be an understatement. This guy, I never knew this, he was a child genius. Like, he's legit. He found ways to retrofit cars to run on running water, he created generators that can power houses just on solar energy; he was scarring a lot of the energy companies on the amount of money they were losing and he even had make-shift soup kitchens and pharmacies. Now, he did use crime to make a lot of that happen but, you know, these days people have to take what they can get.
[Tynice]
He's a real Robinhood-type character, which in my opinion is a real humiliation to the local government.
[Co-host]
You would think that, wouldn't you? What about the fact that he exposed those rich fat cats who were trying to keep their family drama under wraps hoping they wouldn't get sued? Or exposing the attorney general or that really messed up conservative couple who got busted in the Capitol Hotel. Well, that last one was thanks to Shade apparently but you get my drift.
[Tynice]
Don't even joke about that. You know I loathe that type of behavior and it brings me to my next point. How is this... criminal, I mean let's be real, can do more for the city of Bedrock than the elected officials? If you want to know what it is, it's probably because they're comfortable.
[Co-host]
Hmm. That's a good word.
[Tynice]
They really are. You've got people sleeping on the ground and tons of abandoned real estate downtown and what does the government want to do? What does the mayor want to do? He wants to spring up a new golf course in the west to give them more economic power. And golf, really? We all know that golf is a status sport anyway, so let's not talk about any spec of benefits that this would bring.
[Co-host]
I want to touch on what you said about abandoned real estate. It's crazy that it's not just that but you also have to look at where they're working. These buildings downtown have been abandoned since I was a kid and anyone could have bought the property, transformed it into a homeless and gotten people off the streets.
[Tynice]
No, but we can't do that. We have to gut out portions of the east downtown area and gentrify it so that these soccer moms can have someplace to unwind on the weekends claiming that it will increase revenue. Our priorities are all out of wack. It's no wonder our city is full of chaos!
[Co-host]
What do you think should be done about all of this?
[Tynice]
I think it's up to us to call our people like the mayor and all our elected officials. They need to find the money and direct it toward issues that really matter. It's only then that we're going to see some change.
