Clash

Shikamaru was lazily staring at the clouds thinking about his current situation. It was a drag, Tsunade had assigned his team to accompany Naruto's to "retrieve" Sasuke. He was almost certain it meant his corpse, because if Sasuke was alive in Konoha, Naruto would burn it to the ground just to get to him. His thoughts then took a darker, more sadistic side as he smiled imagining what Naruto would do to him. More so, Naruto had the damned Uchiha's sharingan, so nothing Sasuke did would catch Naruto off guard. Plus, Naruto had trained his sharingan to an extent that he unlocked the second stage by force. With his crazy new abilities and genjutsu said to rival that of Itachi Uchiha, he had that fight covered. Unless Sasuke trained himself half to death everyday, he didn't stand a chance. He heard footsteps as his teammates came up to him.
"Get up Shikamaru, we're leaving" Asuma said. Shikamaru quirked his eyebrows, "I thought you wouldn't be going with us?". Asuma chuckled, "we're gonna need all the manpower we can get because Orochimaru isn't giving up his prize that easy, let's hurry we don't wanna keep them waiting".
As they arrived at the gates, they met Naruto and Kakashi, along with Temari, and some guy named Sai. "Hey guys, sorry we're late" Asuma apologized. Naruto didn't even pay any attention to anyone. His face was stone cold, eyes blazing red. Even Sai, dared not to annoy him. He could tell that Naruto could kill him before he would get a chance to run.
"Enough time wasting, let's go" Kakashi said. The whole team of shinobi set off to find Orochimaru and Sasuke.

Naruto was currently chasing Orochimaru, his target had been running away for a while, and Naruto just played along. He only needed to know where Sasuke was, and that was it, but it seemed like he would have to beat the answers out of Orochimaru. Orochimaru on the other hand was still in shock, his mind racing to comprehend what just happened. The nine tails jinchuriki was an Uchiha as well? Damn his luck. He could have given him the curse mark and bag arguably the most powerful host he could ever want. Now he was frantically running away, trying to bide time for his student to escape. Plus, his arms were sealed away, therefore he couldn't fight. Naruto wasn't making things easy though, having seen his mangekyo, Orochimaru cursed himself for not going after Naruto, he was losing this fight and Naruto was fighting with only his base sharingan. If he truly wanted to, he could kill Orochimaru there and then- well not permanently.
His mastery of the sharingan reminded him of the masked man in the Akatsuki. The man claiming to be Madara. They both were so good with their dojutsu they didn't need to use their mangekyo. Orochimaru spat out his Kusanagi blade towards Naruto at high speeds. Naruto dodged it with ease, but Orochimaru smirked, thinking Naruto had let his guard down. To his shock, the blade that was now flying towards Naruto's back went straight through a portal and out behind him stabbing into his own chest. That was his mangekyo ability, Orochimaru hissed as the pain seemed to only increase. His mind going blank as his heart was pierced. He would be back, but he now wanted Naruto's body more than anything else. He collapsed as he died. Naruto sighed. He turned back as soon as he heard Ino come into his mind. "We know where Sasuke is". He needed no other prompting as he flashed immediately to them. He didn't see Sai, guessing he was inside he used the marker he had on him to teleport to him.

Sasuke Uchiha was in the middle of his "talk" with Sai, who was trying to convince him to come back to the leaf. He guessed that Naruto would be there as well, wondering if he was stronger than last time. To say he was surprised when he received a chakra infused haymaker to the jaw that sent him into the wall was an understatement. He was almost out, just from one punch. Though to be fair Naruto hit him with the intention to kill. Sasuke's eyes widened as he saw Naruto, and his eyes!! 'The sharingan!!!' thought Sasuke. Was Naruto an Uchiha all along? Staggering to his feet, he was soon flanked by all the Konoha nin. Kabuto watched helplessly, Orochimaru was dead, and jumping in to save Sasuke would be suicide. Sasuke gritted his teeth. "Sasuke Uchiha, come with us peacefully, or we'll take you by force" Kakashi stated coldly. This was no longer his student. He never had regard for his lessons and he didn't even now. Naruto blinked. "What do you mean come peacefully? He's gonna die!!!". Naruto charged at Sasuke again at a speed that only a sharingan could see. Though Sasuke saw Naruto coming for him, it didn't mean he could react in time. He wasn't that strong or fast yet. His gut was next to be assaulted as he was indented even further into the wall he just came out from. Kakashi watched in shock as Naruto used Tsunade's technique. Had he been learning that as well? Sasuke came out of the crater again, this time his sight glazed over, it couldn't end like this, his revenge, there was no way the dead last was the one to beat him. Building up his chakra, he put his hand up and used his most powerful attack, knowing that anything less would result in his death. A lightning dragon crashed into the leaf shinobi and he smirked when he saw the destruction it caused. The dust cleared and his eyes widened in horror as towering over him, was the colossal figure of a Susanoo. The Uchiha clans ultimate defense. He fell back in fear as the giant ethereal warrior made its way towards him. In desperation he charged the biggest chidori he ever used and launched towards the Susanoo. The Susanoo swung down it's sword as it slapped Sasuke into the ground, creating a massive crater. The Susanoo dispersed as Naruto landed knee first on Sasuke's already damaged rib cage. He brought out the sword strapped to his back, raising it over Sasuke's head. Temari ran to him and stopped him before he could go any further. "You don't have to do this!! He's already down, you've won!!". Naruto was trying to get her off him. "Let ... Me go!!! I have to kill him!!!". Kakashi and the rest of the leaf shinobi tried their best to pin him down, which was unsuccessful until Shikamaru used a shadow paralysis jutsu on him.
"Let me go ... I have to!!!". Shikamaru only looked at his friend. "I'm sorry, I know how you feel but I can't ...". Naruto started struggling against it, Unknowingly tapping into the nine tails power. The fox was also inwardly trying to calm the boy down, his warning falling on deaf ears. Naruto on the outside broke free and went into a frenzy, attacking everyone in sight.
"Snap out of it kid, it's not worth it!!!",kurama shouted. Naruto was on a rampage, it took all everyone had just to keep him at bay. Naruto was then drawn into his mind scape as he saw someone he thought he would never see again.
"Naruto? Is that really you?". Naruto froze as approaching him was the girl he was fighting for.
"S-sakura-chan?". Sakura was in tears as she saw the effect her death had on him. His eyes were dull, his hair no longer had the shine they did. "You look tired...". She slowly approached him, she looked so beautiful, she was wearing a white kimono that highlighted her bright pink hair. Naruto's tears started to flow as she put her hand on his cheek. "I'm so sorry for doing this to you Naruto ... It's all my fault". Naruto retorted.
"No ... It was Sasuke, that's why I'm-",
"Getting revenge?" She cut in.
"This isn't you Naruto, you wouldn't go as far as killing him, that's not the Naruto I know ...". "He died, when you did". She smiled softly at him.
"Don't be stubborn Naruto, you're still in there somewhere, I know it, you don't have to go this far for me ... I know what Sasuke did to me was wrong, but it doesn't mean you throw away all your values just because of revenge. Listen Naruto, if you go through with this, you'll be no different from Sasuke". Naruto's eyes widen as he realized what he had been doing this entire time. He was the same as Sasuke, if not worse. He let go of all he believed in for some petty revenge. Gaining respect, becoming Hokage, saving lives, he let it all go. Sakura noticing his realization smiled. "I really appreciate all you've been doing for me, but it has to stop. There are still people who care for you, and you have to move on". "But I made a promise to avenge you ... Your parents ... ". Sakura shook her head. "Killing him isn't the way Naruto, there's a difference between justice and vengeance, you have to see the line between them". Naruto smiled at her "I get it, thank you Sakura-chan".
"My time is running out, I'll be leaving soon ... Naruto, promise me something". Naruto looked at her.
"Anything you ask". "Don't kill Sasuke,you are better than him...".
Hesitantly he agreed. Sakura started fading away when she called out to him again "also, please make sure Temari is happy". Naruto shed silent tears as she faded away, leaving him alone in his mind scape. He stood silent for a few minutes before deciding to end this all. "I won't kill him ... But he'll regret what he did..."

The leaf shinobi were all sprawled out around Naruto, who wasn't in his right senses, he was now on top of Sasuke punching him over and over. Temari in desperation threw herself at him. "You have to stop it!!! This isn't you!!! Snap out if it!!!". Naruto came to his senses just as he was probably about to kill Sasuke. His fist stopped enroute to Sasuke's face. Turning around to see everyone laying on their backs. 'oh no' he thought.
He couldn't hold back his tears as he realized he was at fault. "I'm-I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me ... I-".
"We're just glad you didn't kill us" Asuma cut in. Temari was sobbing softly, glad it was all over. Naruto turned to her. "Temari I'm sorry ... You were right, it's not worth it, I'll be better from now on ...". She  hugged him closely in response. "Baka". Kakashi smiled seeing his little brother figure finally find peace with himself. Shikamaru cleared his throat a bit too loudly. "I'm glad you guys made up or whatever, but what do we do about him" he said pointing at Sasuke who was beaten to a bloody pulp. Naruto winced a bit. Damn.
Sai at this point vowed never to piss Naruto off, lest he end up like that.
"I can heal him, at least so he isn't on deaths door" Ino said. She went near him still on guard and patched him up, not completely so he could still feel some pain. The whole team headed towards Konoha with Sasuke, feeling happy about their missions success. Naruto looked up at the sky, thanking Sakura and made up his mind to move on, he felt a hand on his as Temari squeezed it reassuringly. He smiled back at her as they joined the group. Unknown to them a pair of sharingan watched them intently.
"It would seem you failed ... Little brother".
