Maddie couldn't stop looking at the mark on her wrist. She had no idea where it had come from. She had no idea what it meant. But she knew it had been there since she and Elena had met Elijah.

She was worried it meant something bad. But given everything that she knew, it wouldn't surprise her.

Elena walked into her bedroom and sighed. "Come on. Damon and Stefan called. We need to go over to the boarding house," she said.

Maddie rolled her eyes and sighed. "And that involves me how?"

"Come on Maddie."

Maddie kicked off her duvet and sighed. She got out of bed and quickly got dressed. She grabbed some bracelets to cover up the mark. Not wanting to explain it. Not knowing how to explain it.

Maddie knew the Salvatore Boarding house was the last place she wanted to be. She knew she wanted to lie in bed and think about Elijah. And why she had felt sparks when he touched her.

Elena knocked on the door. A few moments later, Lily opened it. Damon stood behind her. "Hello Elena. My favourite Gilbert," Lily said.

Maddie sighed and walked inside. She felt Damon grab her and pull her to stand between his legs. She looked to him. "I have to know. Is this really important?" She asked. She saw everyone looking around. "Important enough for me to be out of bed?"

Damon smirked as he sat there nibbling on her neck. "You can get your ass into my bed," he said.

"Maddie," Elena said as she looked to her sister. She smiled when Stefan walked in. "What's this about?"

Maddie was about to speak when she saw the woman who took them walking in. "What the fuck? You?" She spat.

Damon had to hold her back. "Calm it."

Rose looked to them. "Okay. You have to understand. I only know what I've picked up over the years. I don't know what's true and what isn't true," she said.

Maddie rolled her eyes. She smiled as Lily handed her a drink. "This is why you're my favourite vampire," she said as she turned to face Rose. "Start talking pixie cut."

Elena saw Maddie drinking and frowned. "Maddie. It's not even 10am yet. Put the drink down."

"Elena. You are not the boss of me. Back off," Maddie said.

"It's the problem with all this vampire crap. But Klaus, I know that he's real," Rose said.

Elena frowned as she looked to Rose. "Who is he?"

Damon looked around at the people standing in the room. "He's one of the originals. He's a legend," he told them.

Stefan nodded and spoke. "From the first generation of vampires."

Maddie looked up. She frowned. "What? He's like Elijah?" She asked.

Rose shook her head. "No. Elijah was the Easter bunny compared to Klaus. He's a foot soldier. Klaus is the real deal."
