I woke when I felt the car jolt to a stop. I opened my eyes and Nate was coming around to my side to open the door.

I swung my legs out and grabbed onto him and stood up.

"Are you good?" He asked with a bit of worry on his voice. I nodded my head in response.

We walked to the front door, and I realized we weren't at my house. Nate obviously saw the confused look on my face.

"I don't think Laura and Connor would appreciate me dropping off their drunk daughter." Laura and Connor are my parents, if you didn't catch that.

He reached in his pocket and fished around for the key. He unlocked the door and motioned me inside.

"You go upstairs, I'll grab you some water." He walked into the kitchen and left me just looking at the stairs. No way I'm getting up there without falling. I can barely hold my head up, no way can I walk up stairs.

"What are you still doing down here?"

"Well, I can't really go upstairs. I'm gonna fall." He let out a sigh and carried me up the stairs. He put me on Natalie's bed and left.

I changed into a tshirt and shorts and brushed my hair. I feel like complete crap.

"Ok, here is some water. Drink, now." He handed me a glass and I drank it. Water tastes so damn good when you're thirsty.

"Thank you, Nate."

"It's just water El, you don't have to thank me."

"No, for earlier. You pulled Alec off me and I'm grateful. Who knows what would've happened."

"He's a horn dog Elena you have to be careful of him. And all my friends. Stay away from them, please." He said this like it was a plea, not a warning like it usually is.

"I'm just drunk, usually I'm ok around them. I just went too far tonight."

"How many did you have anyway?"

"Um, 4 beers and 2 tequila shots." I felt guilty when I told him this.

"El, you can't do that. You're inexperienced. And you don't know how your body reacts to alcohol. Don't drink again." I felt a sudden anger go through me. Who is he to tell me not to drink?

"Don't tell me what to do! I'm not some fragile little thing Nate."

"Yes, you are Elena! You can't protect yourself! And you need someone to make sure you'll be ok!"

"My God Nate you've been acting like you're my father! Stop it!" I felt my stomach turn and toss rather quickly.

"Oh no, no." I whispered and I know what's happening.

I ran to the bathroom and emptied the contents of my stomach into the toilet. Maybe alcohol isn't my friend.

It just kept coming. It won't stop. I feel like I'm dying, and I just want to cry.

I felt my hair come off my face and I kept throwing up. My stomach was burning after a while.

I finally stopped and I leaned back against Nate. My body was shaking and I was terrified.

I felt tears stream down my face and I couldn't stop them. Nate held me and rubbed my arm. I turned towards him and cried into his shirt.

"It's gonna be ok El, I promise." All my emotions are coming out. The flood gates have opened, and there is no shutting them. All the hurt from Sam, people looking at me like I'm a freak, and being alone. Being alone is the worst part. In reality,
