(Holly’s P.O.V)

I was probably the only person not looking forward to the party on Saturday. Zach’s best friend Jason was throwing an end of school party and everyone was going. I wasn’t looking forward to it because Izzy was going to be there. I missed her so much. It had been a week now. But no matter how angry I was at her, I could never hate her.

Nearly everyone had got over the fact that Zach and I were dating. It was weird at first because everyone stared at us all the time and they all talked about us. But now most people had got used to it, only a few people still thought it was weird and kept talking about us. We didn’t care though.

"Are you ready yet?" Zach asked from the other side of my bedroom door.

"Nearly." I told him, smoothing down my light blue summer dress. I pulled my turquoise jacket over it and shoved my light blue pumps on. Then I grabbed my phone and shoved it in the pocket of my jacket.

"Ready." I said opening the door.

"Wow, you look amazing." He told me.

"Thanks, you don’t look too bad yourself." I said as he pulled me close to him.

"Well, that’s quite a compliment coming from you." He said and kissed me.

"I don’t mean to interrupt, but if you don’t leave now then you’re going to be late." My mum interrupted us. I pulled away and glared at my mum.

"Sorry, I was just saying" she said.

"Well next time don’t." I said, then I turned to Zach. "She is right though, let’s go." I said.

We were the 5th people to arrive. Which meant Izzy wasn’t there yet so Holly wasn’t uncomfortable and she was having a good time. Until Izzy arrived. She arrived with some girls from school who I didn’t know. I was worried because Holly hadn’t smiled once since Izzy arrived.

And there they were. Sitting on a sofa chatting away to their friends as if I never existed. I was a wreck. I’d been crying non-stop ever since my fight with Holly. I may not have known her that long, but she was the bestest friend I’d ever had. She was always there for me when I needed her, even when I told her I did need her, when I actually did, she’d still be there. Even though I know I should’ve been there for her more, like when her dad died.

I was in Spain when her dad died and I couldn’t be bothered to ring her back or answer the phone when she rang because I wanted to forget what was going on back home. Then when I came back I didn’t know what to say to her, I’d never had anyone die in my life. I didn’t understand. I now knew I should’ve been there for her. I should’ve took the next flight back home. Weather my mum allowed me to or not. Even if they wouldn’t let me get in the plane by myself without a parent over 18, I should have snuck on the plane anyway. I should have been there for her on that one occasion when she needed me most. She soon forgave me though, that’s just the kind of person she is. She a ‘forgive and forget’ type of girl, that’s why she can’t see through Zach.

I couldn’t stand it. Seeing her happy without me and with him. I needed to cry again. But not in front of her. I made an excuse that I needed to go to the bathroom.
