Stronger

Chapter 1

Many would say that you meet the person who you are meant to be with in high school or middle school even. Daniel and I were the high school couple who everyone one thought would last forever. My name is Hayden Mathews and I am a junior at Columbia High School. I'm a straight A student, and I enjoy doing a lot of sports. I've been with my boyfriend Daniel Johnson since 7th grade and I have known him since 2nd grade when we were put in a group together for a science project. When we first met I thought that he was just some guy that eats his snot, fail almost every class, and flirt with every girl that came within 2 feet of him. He has definitely proven me wrong, except the snot part, he didn't grow out of that till 5th grade.

Once my mom turned 19 she moved out of her parents house, from Iowa to Nevada, which is where she met my father who later got my mother pregnant with me. 9 months later I was in the arms of my mother with my father by her side. I had the perfect life growing up until I was 6. I was getting ready to go to Kindergarten when my father was murdered. After my father was murdered my mother moved back to Iowa to have me around my family and so that she could be around her friends and family. When we moved back my mom found out that her friend had a kid and his name was Brent. My mom has been friends with his mom since they were 5 years old and were playing at a park together. Brent and I were best friends since the first time we met and we just connected right on the spot. We both loved to go to the park and play on the playground, we loved to hang out with each other, we just loved to be in each others presence. Then we started Kindergarten and were put in the same class together. The teacher would have a hard time with me and Brent sitting side by side during class, like when it was nap time which was for 20 minutes after lunch Brent and I would get markers off the table and draw on our fellow classmates faces as they slept and while our teacher was in the restroom. When the teacher would come back in to check on everyone, she would see the entire class with marker on their faces as they were sleeping, other than Brent and I who would be hiding either in a closet together or in the playhouse they had in the classroom.

Brent and I have always been friends and never even had a fight until my sophomore year of high school. We were going through our normal day just like any other day. That day I noticed that Brent had been acting weird, especially when he said that he needed to talk to me after I was done with tennis practice. After tennis practice I walked out of the locker room to go to my truck, when I noticed somebody by my truck. Actually it was two people... I snuck up to my truck to find Brent and Daniel standing by my truck, and they seemed to be arguing. When I got within earshot of them I heard Brent say, " how could you go and do that to her, when you know she loves you?! I thought you were more of a man but, no you have to go and..."
