A phone that was recently tossed away to the other side of a bed buzzed again, making Oikawa sigh & feel something cold seep into his stomach. There was something about that familiar ding, which used to spike his dopamine levels, now made him feel upset... He had lost count of how many times he heard his phone buzz like that. Well, he never kept count in the first place.

But Iwaizumi did. He'd kept counting very easily. It was two times. And it was two times too much for Oikawa.

Furrowing his eyebrows due to slight frustration, Oikawa turned his head to the side & glanced behind him at the bed before staring at the blank wall with an empty gaze. He ran his fingers through his hair & clenched the pen tightly in his hand, then placed his arms on the top of his knees.

He'd tried to respond, but every sentence, every word Oikawa could think of felt they were worth nothing & and if he'd send something worth less than decaying flowers on Valentine's Day, would it make a difference? Would it even have the smallest effect?

Iwaizumi peered over Oikawa's shoulder out of curiosity & tilted his head to get a better look at the bed, noticing Oikawa's usual phone case with the screen facing the bed. He clicked his pen & lifted it from his notebook, pointing it at the device.

- You should pick it up, you know.

Oikawa dropped his head on the bed behind him.

- I still don't have anything good to say.

- You should still at least read what she sent.

Oikawa gradually lifted his head from the bed & gave Iwaizumi a weirded-out stare before he laid his head back onto the blanket.

- How do you even know it's a girl?

- Because you never shut up when you're seeing someone new.

Oikawa deeply exhaled, flicking the pen between his fingers & pushing it through his hair.

- I know.

Iwaizumi flipped back to a previous page to review the other questions he'd answered, checking to see if his solutions were correct. He crossed out some things, wrote down something new & then checked off the correct answers. He grabbed Oikawa's notebook & started doing the same thing for him.

- Listen, we don't know what's happened, but I and the others are worried. You haven't been... - Iwaizumi paused for a moment as if searching for the right words through an imaginary dictionary, - so "lovey-dovey", as Matsu puts it, lately.

Iwaizumi explained while using air quotes with his fingers for those two words. Lovey-dovey? The hell is that supposed to mean?

The more Iwaizumi looked through Oikawa's notebook, the less work he saw was done in class & absolutely nothing at home when it came to homework or self-studying. Most of the questions were left empty with drawings on the side that were getting more & more aggressive with each page turn.

Oikawa stayed silent after Iwaizumi's remark. He didn't know how to respond to such a description, but at the same time, he still wanted to know more. Nevertheless, Oikawa had mixed feelings: on one hand, he wanted to push away everything related to their little matter so he could get over it as fast as possible, but on the other hand, he wished to solve it all.

- Either, you know, deal with it and make this work, or just... stop going out with her. - Iwaizumu spoke up again. - You shouldn't be with someone that causes you this much stress. I thought you, of all people, would know that best.

- I do know, I do know... - Oikawa draped his hand over his eyes as he faced the seeling, - but it's not like I stayed quiet and didn't say anything. I also messed up.

Iwaizumi pushed away Oikawa's notebook as he suppressed a small laugh.

- You two are both good at everything but talking about your feelings.

- Oh, shut up. Brown is my favourite colour, anyway.

Oikawa slapped his face gently as he turned back to Iwaizumi, who still had a slightly amused expression. Oikawa grabbed his notebook & went back to the question they were currently solving.

- Anyway, what did you get for question eight? - Iwaizumi asked in a tired voice as he rested the side of his face on his palm.

- I got three hundred per cent. Question eight was kind of easy. I was surprised since the teacher said it was one of the harder ones.

Iwaizumi blankly stared at Oikawa, to which he received a coy reaction from Oikawa. He looked away after he noticed Iwaizumi's fixated stare on him.

- What? What is it? - Oikawa began drawing circles on each other again on the side of the page to distract himself.

- ...The answer is fifteen.
