This is the beginning of my story. This is my first original story on Watt Pad. I'm sorry if this sucks. If you decide to continue reading, thank you. And sorry this chapter is really short.
I was woken by the sound of chirping sparrows, and the light shining through my window.I lean over to my nightstand and check my phone.
"It's 7:32... darn."
I pull the covers off of my drowsy body. I walk over to grab my favorite sweatshirt, my comfy shorts, my glasses, my phone, and threw my wild hair into a messy bun. Some of my brown curls escaped the ponytail holder and fell in front of my face, but I didn't care. I just decided to make my way down the stairs.
I was happily greeted by a wonderfully familiar sight. The empty, yet comforting , living room.I could practically hear the recliner talking to me.
"Melody, lay down on me. Snuggle up with a nice comfy blanket and watch Netflix."
"That's exactly what I planned on doing , right after I grab some coffee." I thought to myself.
I walked over to one of my many favorite devices known as the coffee pot , and got it started. One of my favorite smells was fresh coffee grounds in the morning. I may only be 17,but I feel like I need coffee to function in the mornings.
I grabbed my favorite mug that holds like 14 oz of coffee. I ,however, like what some people call girly coffee. I usually add 4 scoops of sugar and 2 oz of milk, and I'm very clumsy , so I leave a little space just in case.
I had a tv in my room with Netflix in it , but hanging out in the living room downstairs is a good excuse so my dad couldn't say I was being antisocial, even though I only talk when I'm in the mood.
I looked at my options on Netflix.
"Should I watch a horror movie or watch a romantic comedy, or maybe just a comedy? I'll probably just watch The Conjuring again."
That's when my dad came walking down the stairs.
"Melody, get off of the TV . I'm gonna watch my shows."
"I literally, just got here ." I said kind of agitated.
"I don't care . I have to leave for work in an hour ,and I want to clear some stuff off of the DVR."
"Fine."
I didn't want to argue with him. He isn't much of a morning person , and he has to deal with people at work.
I walked upstairs to my room. I sat down in my swingy bed, grabbed my fluffy blanket , laid my coffee on my nightstand , and turned on the tv.My lair was awesome. It has super, mega, fuzzy carpet that feels like slippers. My walls were purple with multi colored splatter paint. My dad let me do the splatters myself. It looked awesome.
After I blew some time watching Netflix, I decided to check my phone.
"It's only 8:26 ."
I turned off Netflix. I looked out the glass doors that lead to the balcony.
It was white. It was kind of like the ones in the movies or the books. It was really beautiful."Should I go outside? Why not?" I said out loud.
I grabbed my phone and my wireless speaker and walked out. My dad works with human resources, so he gets paid very well , and decided to buy a big expensive house. I love it, but I also think a quaint little house would have just as good, accept for the view.
Behind our house laid acres and acres of forest. It looked so beautiful , especially on warm Sunday mornings like this .
I listened to the birds as they sang their lovely tunes , and looked into the trees to see the wonderful blooms on the branches and bushes. The music from my speaker played along like a soundtrack made specifically for this moment. I breathed in the air and I could smell the sweet perfume of spring. As I looked in the trees I could have sworn I saw something moving . Curiosity began to appear in my eyes as I looked through the sea of green leaves.
"Melody ! Come down stairs! I'm leaving!" He shouted from the house.
"Okay Dad." I yelled back
I slowly backed away. I wonder what
was in there. It was most likely a deer or a rabbit I'm sure. Then I ran off to give my dad a goodbye hug.
