KAROLINA SIGHED at the sight of the "welcome to mystic falls" sign.

It wasn't that she hated the place, it's more like the small town and herself had a mutual disliking for each other.

Almost six months back was when she first stepped foot into the town. Although her body was physically 19, it was easy to pose as a high schooler as she could just play it off as being mature for her age. At first, she did what she had always done, doing drugs and not giving a shit.

She had met a sweet younger boy named Jeremy who, cliche as it may sound, wasn't really a toughened up drug addict, but a misunderstood high schooler who had just had his parents taken away from him in a brutal car accident.

Jeremy, like Karolina, had no one to fall back on. Sure, he had his older sister, but she was so caught up in her own grief that she failed to realise that her younger brother had taken to some more, unsavoury, habits until it was too late.

In later weeks of her first month in mystic falls, Karolina realised that she was in fact residing in a town filled to the brim with cocky vampires, judgy witches, and idiotic werewolves.

This was not to mention Elena Gilbert, the whiny doppelgänger who was, coincidentally enough, also Jeremy's ignorant older sister. Karolina had tried to be nice to the girl, but Elena had turned her nose and looked at her disdainfully when realising this was the girl who had 'taken away' her brother.

Just fucking fabulous.

However, this wasn't even the end of it. Upon walking into the town, Karolina had felt comfortable enough to revert to her original, Lithuanian accent. When being denied housing for being 'one of those filthy soviet immigrants' she had decidedly put on an american accent, deciding to use her fake name instead of her favoured one.

So yes, the town hated her, and Karolina hated it. It was a mutual understanding.

Now, just because Karo- sorry Percy, had been frustrated with the town and it's inhabitants (other than sweet, sweet Jeremy) doesn't mean she had been neglecting her training as a newly turned God.

Her powers over time were something she had a love-hate relationship with. Karolina hated the fact she loved them.

To be honest, they were the coolest things ever. She could pause time, fast forward it, turn it backwards, speed it up, and slow it down (although the last three hadn't been completely mastered yet). In short, it was like she had a tv remote but for real life instead of, well, a tv.
