He was the absolute worst.

Chuuya groaned into the pillow on his couch. Dazai was the worst. That shitty Mackerel had showed up at his apartment again and the worst part is he showed up looking even uglier than usual.

His stupid caramel brown eyes and stupid shitty smirk. Chuuya hated it, he hated him. He hated him so so much. This idiot really thought he would just waltz into Chuuya's life and apartment once again after four fucking years and Chuuya would let him?

Hell no!

Chuuya stuffed his face into the pillow once more before letting out a silent scream. That dumbass was standing outside his door and Chuuya was as sure as he wouldn't leave all night, even if it was fucking snowing. He wouldn't break in, even if he very well could, just to annoy Chuuya.

He cursed under his breath before clenching his fists and throwing the door open.

"What the fuck do you want!?", Chuuya scowled at the brown-haired man, he wouldn't deny that Dazai had looked so much better than when he was in the Mafia, his eyes had gotten so much brighter, and the permanent scowl he used to wear had turned into a more carefree, more real, smile. There was this new sparkle in his eyes that Chuuya had never seen before.

He still looked ugly though, of course. Just different.

"Chuuyaaaa~ won't Chibi let me in? only for a few minutes?", Dazai whined, looking at him with adorable brown puppy eyes.

Heh, he calls Chuuya the dog when looking like this, so fucking ironic

"No. Leave, idiot. Before I call the police", Chuuya threatened with a serious glare, but of course Dazai wasn't fazed.

He sighed dramatically before shoving Chuuya aside and walking in like he fucking owned the place. Throwing his shoes off in the corner and plopping his coat on Chuuya's head, Dazai draped himself on the couch without a care in the world, closing his eyes and humming.

Chuuya gaped at him for a second. The audacity this man had to use him, Nakahara Chuuya, the Port Mafia's most prominent executive, as a coat hanger. How dare he just walk into Chuuya's apartment and act like it was his own!?

Chuuya growled and hung the coat on his rack before storming towards the brown-haired man. "What the hell do you think you're doing, shitty Dazai?!", he questioned, angrily.

Dazai just opened one eye, full of mischief, and rolled it. "What does it look like I'm doing, Chibi? has Chuuya's ugly hat started snacking at his braincells now?", the detective mused, that stupid smirk present on his face again.

"Fuck you. I'm not dealing with you right now, I'm going to work, asshole.", the auburn-haired man scoffed, glaring at Dazai.

Chuuya scowled, clenching his fists before turning around. But before he could walk away, Dazai reached out and grabbed his wrist. Chuuya tensed and turned around, ready to lash out at him but once he saw the look on Dazai's face, he paused. Dazai looked so lost for a second that even Chuuya faltered.

"....Don't leave", Dazai whispered, he sounded so small and childlike, Chuuya couldn't bring himself to deny him because..

He couldn't find a reason.

But all Chuuya knew was that he wouldn't, he couldn't leave Dazai, not when he genuinely went out of his way to ask him to stay. Dazai never did that, Dazai never asked anyone for anything, and for him to ask Chuuya to stay? that was almost an impossibility.

The auburn-haired man stared at his ex-partner in shock before frowning and kneeling down and taking off his glove before gently placing the back of his hand on Dazai's forehead.
