The wine has definitely got in my system. I feel lightheaded. Not drunk, just tipsy.
"Everything good?" Gavi asks and I feel a little brush on my leg. I'm surprised by how much electricity does just a little amount of touch have.
"Yes! I couldn't have imagined a more perfect night," I answer and slide my leg along his under the table.
"Good," he says and stares at me with those beautiful emerald green eyes. I feel butterflies in my stomach, a lot of butterflies. Everything he does makes me more attracted to him. Am I alright?
Madeline and Pedri tell us the story of how they ended up together. I already knew those parts that Madeline has told me but Pedri's side is new to me. Gavi keeps touching my leg with his once in a while which takes my breath away every single time. Does he even know how strong an effect he has on me? I have a hard time focusing on their story when my mind is on the boy sitting in front of me.
"And we secretly saw each other as often as possible. On the elevator, corridor, after practice, before a game..." Madeline keeps going but I can't focus at all since Gavi puts his hand to the inner side of my thigh. I can't breathe. He starts to make a circle with his thumb. Oh god I can't even think anymore.
"Enjoying your food?" Gavi asks with a smirk and locks eyes with me.
I swallow hard before being able to answer, "Yes very much. You want some?" Before he has time to answer I pick up my fork and bring that straight to his mouth.
He looks surprised. "You were right, it's really good," he says and gives me a flirty glance.
I can't hold myself back from flirting back. "You have pasta sauce on your face. Let me help you," I say even though he doesn't have anything on his face and reach across the table with my hand. I place my thumb on the corner of his mouth and pretend to wipe something off his bottom lip.
I feel his grip on my knee. So I do have an effect on him as well. I smile at him trying to look innocent. He gulps and his hand starts to shake a little on my tight.
Pedri pops our little bubble by saying, "What do you guys think?"
Gavi and I both look at him. We were busy flirting with each other, we didn't even notice they were talking.
"What was the question?" Gavi asks and blushes.
Madeline and Pedri look at each other. "We were thinking we should go to the mall after eating. Are you fine with that?" Madeline asks.
"Yeah, sounds fun," I say and Gavi nods.
Gavi and Pedri insist on paying the bill even though Madeline and I protest little. They are total gentlemens. Really good looking gentlemens.
When we head to the mall Pedri pulls Madeline to his side. They look so cute together. Pedri whispers something to Madeline's ear and she starts laughing. I couldn't be happier for them.
Gavi senses my happiness and takes my hand. "They fit so well together, don't you think?" he asks.
"They deserve each other. He's the perfect match for her," I answer.
"I know and she's perfect for him," Gavi says.
We wander around the mall. We stop at a keychain shop and decide to buy a keychain for each other. Gavi picks an emerald green teddy bear for me. He says it can remind me of his eyes every time I see it. I choose red high heels since there isn't a red dress like the one I wore the first time I saw him.
We left the shop smiling but our joy doesn't last long. A man with Spain's uniform approaches us.
"Pedri and Gavi I finally found you! The whole team has been looking for you for an hour. Why didn't you answer your phone? Didn't you remember the team has the official photoshoot right now! Hurry on boys!" the man says.
Gavi and Pedri glance at each other. I can read from their faces that they didn't remember at all.
"Bye beautiful princesses," they say before leaving.
