[Salvatore Boarding House]
Andie, the woman Damon brought home last night, checks her watch and puts on her jacket as she walks down the stairs. Damon follows behind her, carrying her scarf. Alura watches the two from the couch as Andie checks herself in the mirror. Two puncture marks can clearly be seen on the reporters neck. "I'm late. This is such a crazy day." Andie states, looking in the mirror at the bottom of the stairs. "I'm, uh, covering the Historical Society's High Tea." She explains as she puts a bandage over her bite marks.
"Ooh! Thrilling." Damon remarks sarcastically as he throws a scarf at the woman. The two make their way towards the door as Andie places the scarf around her neck, covering the bandage.
Completely missing the clear use of sarcasm Andie continues. "Yeah. It's for some visiting writer. He's writing a book on small-town Virginia. It's a big snooze."
This catches both Alura and Damon's attention. "Writer? What's his name?" Damon inquires.
"Uh, Elijah Smith." Andie replies. Damon hears a soft scoff from the next room, Alura having found the name ridiculous."Smith. He's using Smith?" Damon says judgingly, he to found the name pathetic for different reasons than Alura. Andie looks at herself, yet again, in a different mirror. Damon places the scarf around her neck and ties it. "Okay. You have your story straight in your mind, right?"
"I can't say that you bit me or drank my blood, just that we hit it off and I really like you. You are terrific, though. You're sweet, funny, you're honest." Andie replies automatically, her compulsion doing the work.
Damon smiles, places his hands on either side of her head, and compels her. "And you're falling hard."
In a trance, Andie smiles. "You might be the one."
"Perfect." Damon opens the front door for Andie. Alaric, not having knocked yet, stands on the front porch. "Have a great day, honey." Damon kisses Andie.
They pull apart and Andie walks out the front door, acknowledging Alaric. "Oh. Hey, Alaric. Later." Andie gets in her car and leaves. Damon waves goodbye to her.
Alaric moves to stand in front of Damon."My new girlfriend. Andie Star, action news." Damon smirks.
Alaric frowns, shaking his head at the vampire. "It's not called action news."
"I know. I just like saying it. Come on." Alaric enters. Damon shuts the door behind him and leads Alaric into the parlor, where Alura is relaxing. Damon pauses for a second thinking about John Gilberts warning. He knew his best friend, and trusted her much more than John. "So, John Gilbert gave me this to kill Elijah." Damon unrolls the dagger from its protective cloth. Alura's jaw drops at the sight. "Said you have to dip the dagger in the remains of an old white ash tree that dates back to the Originals, if there's any truth in that." Damon hands the dagger to Alaric and Alaric takes it. Alura stands up to get a better view of the ash and dagger. It couldn't be... How could John have possibly have gotten his hands on a dagger.. unless... Isobel..
"So you think it's a setup?" Alaric asks, breaking Ali out of her spiraling mind.
"It could be. Guy's a weasel. Wouldn't put anything past him." Damon says, watching Alura carefully. She looked like she'd seen a ghost. Damon turns around and heads to the bar, fixing himself and Alura drinks. "What are you up to today, Mr. Saltzman?"
Alaric gets up and walks over to Damon. "Well, Jenna and I were supposed to go to her family's lake house, but somehow, we both got roped into doing this Historical Society thing at the Lockwoods."
It suddenly clicks in Alura's mind. "Where Elijah's the guest of honor."
Alaric sighs, coming to the same realization. "Tell me you're not gonna kill him at the tea party."
