Draco was nervous. For many reasons.

One, Hermione had told him to meet him here because she needed to tell him something.

Two, Theo was going to record and pop out at any moment and say it was a bet.

Three, Draco had fallen in love with Hermione.

Draco wanted to tell her not to come. To tell her everything, the truth. But mostly, to tell her that he loved her.

"She almost here?" Theo whispered from behind the bushes.

"Shut up." Draco shot back.

Theo rolled his eyes. "If I was mistaken, I'd say you'd actually fallen for her."

Draco froze for a moment before saying, "No, I absolutely hated these past weeks."

Theo huffed, then dove back down into the bushes.

Hermione walked into view. "Who were you talking to?"

"No one. Myself." Draco said quickly.

Hermione shrugged. "Well, you're someone."

Draco's heart did summersaults. "What did you come here to tell me?"

Hermione took a breath. "Well, I came to tell you...that I like you. As more than a friend. And, over these past weeks, I've grown into a different person. I'm happier and I like the person I am when I'm with you. I just didn't know if you felt the same way."

Draco stepped forward. But that's when Theo stepped out of the bushes, ending the recording in his phone.

"Theo? What are you doing here?" Hermione turned to Draco. "I thought we were alone."

Draco looked between Theo and Hermione, lost for words.

"A month ago, me and Draco made a bet." Theo started.

"Stop, Theo." Draco said.

"If he could make you fall in love with him within a month, he'd get a thousand galleons. He thought it was worth it. And he succeeded our bet."

Hermione stepped back. "No. I refuse to believe that."

"Tell her, Draco." Theo sneered.

Draco looked down. "It's true."

Hermione's eyes welled with tears. "I can't believe myself. How could I ever be so stupid to think you'd changed. How could I be so stupid to think you'd fall in love with me?"

"Hermione, please, let me explain." Draco begged.

"No!" She cried. "Theo's told me enough."

Tears slide down Draco's face. "I'm sorry."

"I don't care." Hermione spit out. She turned to Theo. "Who else knew about this?"

"Hm, Blaise, Pansy, Daphne, and Astoria, of course."

Tears slide down Hermione's face. She walked up to Theo and slapped him across the face, leaving him shocked.

Draco flinched, wondering if she'd do the same thing to him. He deserved it.

But she walked away.

Theo looked at Draco. "W-Well, that was a show."

Draco found a little bit of pleasure in knowing that he got slapped by Hermione, but he couldn't stop the hurt and guilt he felt.

He turned on his heel and walked away.
