She pulled up to the elementary school around 3:00 p.m.
Her little sister went to school here, whilst she attended the high school.
She was only 16 years old. She had just gotten her drivers license, and felt completely free, and grown up.
Her sister was 12, and sort of failing most of her classes.
She was still at that stage of 'I don't give a fuck about school' , but she was slowly working through that, with the help of her older sister, Ella.
Ella was always good in school. Straight A's, and a perfect score in all of her athletic activities.
She wasn't really looking for love, but if she just so happened to find love, she wasn't going to refuse it.
A knock on her window shook her from her thoughts, making her look up.
A handsome young man, with dark skin, and facial hair stared back at her.
She rolled down her window, and smiled at him.
Neither of them said much for a few seconds, the car filling with the cold, crisp winter air.
"May I help you?" she asked, getting colder by the second.
"Yeah, um sorry. I just-you know what, never mind. Sorry for having bothered you."
She smiled at him. "You didn't bother me at all."
He smiled. "Bye."
He turned, and walked back to the sidewalk, slipping his orange vest over his head.
She watched him through the window, leading small children across the road, and smiling whenever he would joke around with the children.
She was startled when the passenger door opened, and her sister got into the car.
"Hey kiddo" she said, turning on her blinker, and checking her mirrors for any cars.
She pulled onto the road, looking into her rear view mirror one last time, seeing him watching as she drove off.
"Did you have a good day?" she asked, breaking the silence.
Today was Both, Ella & Rebecca's first day of school. They had been transferred from Utah, after their dad had gotten a job with a manufacturing company.
"It was good." Rebecca said, checking her phone.
Ella sighed, reaching over, and taking her phone from her hands. "Talk to me, baby" she said, holding Becca's phone hostage.
Rebecca laughed, "I made some. Christina, and Elliana. They're pretty cool. Oh my god, there's this boy..."
"Oh no! Not boys again." Ella interrupted her, with a laugh.
"Hey, I saw you checking out Mr. Crosswalk dude" Becca retorted, stealing her phone back.
"I wasn't checking him out. I was...enjoying his presence." she said, pulling into the driveway.
"So you're saying he's hot?" Rebecca asked, smirking.
"He's cute."
