(1st Person PoV)

I leaned back on the sofa, watching the news. It was the usual stuff.

I sighed and grabbed the remote to change the channel when I heard my wife call out to me from the kitchen.

"Hey [*Redacted*], syrup or no syrup?" She asked.

"Syrup," I called out to her.

Then I heard a ringing noise coming from upstairs. It sounded like Discord. Who could be calling me from there?

I went upstairs and answered the Discord call.

"Hello?" I asked.

"[*Redacted*], he...he's missing," the person said.

"Huh? What?" I was confused. Who is missing?

"[*Redacted*]. Did you not hear me? The kid, [*Redacted*] is missing, I'm panicking right now [*Redacted*]!" The person cried.

"Ok ok, chill for a moment. Have you talked to his parents?" I asked, hoping to calm him down.

"Yes. His mom said that he went out on a walk three hours ago and hasn't come back. Then she got a call from somebody saying that he called 999 for help and something...happened to him as he was calling," the person explained and I felt myself go pale at this.

"Sh*t. Is the police filing a missing person report for him?" I asked.

"No, it takes too long for that. [*Redacted*], I'm scared. What if something bad happens to the kid?" The person sounded close to crying which scared me as the person is one of the strongest people I know.

"Ok listen. Call up whoever he was going to meet up this week. Have them meet us at...aha, the park," I told him as I scrambled to look for a location for us to meet up.

"Which one?"

"The one with the deformed tree. I'll meet you there in about half an hour so we can discuss on how we're going to search for him," I explained.

"...ok. See you in thirty minutes," he hung up.

I let out a staggering sigh as I sank into my chair.

He's missing. He's missing. He's missing.

That thought went into my head three times and it just wasn't very comforting to me.

I shook my head and got up to get my coat.

I'm going to meet up with them at the park in half an hour so I better get ready.

*CRASH*

My head whipped around to the sound of glass shattering.

"...[*Redacted*]!" I called out and went downstairs.

It was quiet...too quiet. Not even the clanking of silverware from the kitchen could be heard.

My heart began to pound as I cautiously approached the kitchen.

However, in the corner of my eyes, I spotted something move and as I turned around, something hit me in the back of my head and I blacked out.

...

...

...

When I woke up again, my head was pounding and I felt tired. I was tried getting up but couldn't, realizing that I was strapped down to something.
