[Three weeks had passed and John Smith's home was fully built, furnished, and decorated. Both Pocahontas and John Smith worked together with the other Natives and the other settlers to ease things between them. It was still very tough but little bit by little bit things were going smoother, not too much, but it was getting there. While Pocahontas was out with Nakoma, John Smith decided to go talk to Chief Powhatan]
{In Chief Powhatan's house}
Chief Powhatan: What is it that you'd like to talk about, my brother?
John Smith: Chief Powhatan, first off, I want to thank you for giving me a place in your tribe. I will always be thankful to you and your people for welcoming me
Chief Powhatan: Anytime, brother
John Smith: And you know very well that I love your daughter, with all of my heart
Chief Powhatan: I am well aware of that
John Smith: I wanted to ask for you for her hand in marriage. I will always honor, cherish, respect, and love Pocahontas until my dying breath. I love her very much, Chief Powhatan
Chief Powhatan: My brother, it would make my heart soar for you and my daughter to join your hearts in matrimony and for me to call you, son. I give you my blessing, but you need to talk to Pocahontas first
John Smith: I will Chief, thank you
(After sharing an embrace, John Smith walks out and starts looking for Pocahontas)
{With John Smith}
(He finally finds her)
John Smith: Pocahontas
Pocahontas: John, hi
John Smith: Hey, are you busy right now?
Pocahontas: No, not at all, I was just talking to Nakoma
John Smith: I was wondering if you'd like to take a walk with me
Pocahontas: Of course, let's go
(They walk away together while holding hands and intertwining their fingers)
Pocahontas: Where are we going?
John Smith: You'll see, Pocahontas, you know that I love you with every bit of my heart, right?
Pocahontas: Of course, just as much as I do, John
John Smith: And you know that I would never push you into something that you're not ready for
Pocahontas: I know
John Smith: Do you recognize where we are?
Pocahontas: Of course, this is exactly where we met, although I was on that rock and you were across from me
John Smith: Then let's make it right
(They both go into the river, Pocahontas laughs, and John Smith holds her hands)
John Smith: Pocahontas, I love you, with all of my heart, you are the love of my life, and because of you, I've become a better man, but I want to continue being a better person than the day I was before. I want to be the man that you deserve to be by your side. My love, you make me so happy and I want to make you the happiest woman in this life and the next. I would be honored to become your husband but only if it's what you want and if you feel like I am worthy of you
[He took out a little black box and knelt in the river on his knees. He opened it revealing a beautiful gold that had little diamonds and little red topazes with a big red topaz in the middle and on the inside it had the engraving, "Listen to your heart"(Pocahontas dried her happy tears and knelt in front of him)
Pocahontas: I'd love to become your wife, John Smith, I love you so much, and yes, you are worthy of my heart
(John Smith placed the ring on Pocahontas's left ring finger and they shared a passionate kiss. After a small while, they pull away, and get out of the river)
Pocahontas: This is beautiful, I love it
John Smith: I'm glad you do, I was scared that you wouldn't like it or that you would say no
Pocahontas: That would never happen, let's go tell Grandmother Willow the good news
John Smith: Absolutely, I haven't seen her in a while, it would be great to see her again
[Pocahontas and John Smith get into her canoe and ride to Grandmother Willow's location. When they tell her the great news, she immediately rejoices for them and congratulates them. Later on, Pocahontas and John Smith tell their friends and Chief Powhatan who makes a public announcement to his people and everyone rejoices for them]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Some time passed and Nakoma and Thomas became friends with Pocahontas' and John Smith's friends as well. They would constantly accompany them when they went to Europe and things continued to get better between the Natives and settlers. They would share with each other their resources. Corn, wheat, blackberries, raspberries, huckleberries, persimmons, passion fruit, cherries, grapes, hickory nuts, beech nuts, and walnuts. Iron and timber, the settlers shared with the Natives, cattle, pigs, horses, goats, and sheep, and the Natives also shared with them wild turkey, rabbit, and fish. They taught the settlers how to take care of the land and how to speak their language to anyone who was willing to learn and in turn many of the settlers who were educated taught them how to read, write, and do other educational skills. John Smith also learned the Algonquian language and learned other valuable skills from the tribe. Months passed and Pocahontas and John Smith attended Ariel's and Eric's wedding with John Smith being the best man, Pocahontas being one of the bridesmaids, and Pocahontas singing with her friends during the wedding. They also attended Mulan's and Shang's wedding as part of their wedding entourage. They also attended Rapunzel's nineteenth birthday party, they even ended up going into battle alongside the other princes and princesses twice. They also went to the weddings of their other friends and finally, they started to plan their wedding]
{With Pocahontas and John Smith by the Chickahominy tree}
[They had already chosen the date for their wedding ceremony and reception, the time, and the location, which would be in the forest clearing in Grandmother Willow's location. They had already come up with the guest list and now just needed what they would serve]
Pocahontas: How about we start with roasted corn on the cob with maple syrup and wrapped bacon at the end and some beans
John Smith: Ok, great start, we can add a traditional English spiced turkey with roasted vegetables
Pocahontas: That sounds delicious and we can also add some of those buttered bread rolls
John Smith: And to drink we can have fresh water and some wines
Pocahontas: Oh yes, those wines that we've had before. They're good, but I'm not the most experienced at choosing them and they're a bit strong
(John Smith laughs)
John Smith: It's an acquired taste, but don't worry my love, we'll just serve one or two. Since we're having corn, beans, bread rolls, and turkey, we have a lot of options, but I think we should go with a chardonnay or some champagne.
Pocahontas: I don't really remember how either one tasted, John
John Smith: It's alright when we went to Ariel's and Eric's wedding, Phoebus brought a really nice champagne from France. It was a Frederic Savart 'L'Ouverture' Brut Champagne. It tasted like apples and pears, it was really good. I'm sure he can bring a couple of bottles for our wedding
Pocahontas: So do we need the chardonnay then?
John Smith: I don't think so, it's not that big a deal. Now, we just need the wedding cake
Pocahontas: What did you have in mind?
John Smith: If you're ok with this, I'd like to have this cake that my mum made every year for my birthday. One time, she let me help her make it, and I ended up burning it
(They laugh together)
John Smith: But eventually, I got better, and well, it's been years since I last had it, my aunt also taught Phoebus, it was a family recipe, and we always had the best time making that cake. We would make a huge mess in the kitchen and throw flour around and our fathers used to clean it up
Pocahontas: That sounds wonderful
John Smith: It was, our families had the best time when we came together
Pocahontas: I'd love to give it a try
John Smith: Really?
Pocahontas: Yes, how did the cake taste like?
John Smith: It was a honey cake with honeyed mascarpone cream on top and my mother and aunt would decorate it with candied fruit and edible flowers
Pocahontas: That sounds delicious, we can make multiple layers, so we can have enough for everyone
(John Smith kisses her hands making Pocahontas blush)
John Smith: Thank you, my princess
Pocahontas: There's no need to thank me, my brave soldier
(They share a laugh then lay down and cuddle underneath the tree)
Pocahontas: Hey, John?
John: What is it, my love?
Pocahontas: Isn't traditional for the wedded couple to go off somewhere for a while after the wedding night? All of our friends went off somewhere
John Smith: A honeymoon, typically yes, but then again we've never been very traditional
Pocahontas: Well, I know, but wouldn't it be nice to go somewhere?
John Smith: It would be, yes, are you thinking of somewhere in particular?
Pocahontas: Not really, I mean we've gone to England, twice to Italy, one time to China, I've been six times to Germany, three times to France, and one time to Agrabah
John Smith: Yeah, we've been to a lot of places, so why don't we go somewhere that we've never gone before?
Pocahontas: Like where?
John Smith: Well, we've never been to Scotland
Pocahontas: Oh yeah, that's where Merida is from
John Smith: That's right, would you like to go to Scotland for our honeymoon?
Pocahontas: Absolutely, it must be beautiful from what Merida shares with us
John Smith: I bet it is, are we missing anything else?
Pocahontas: I don't think so, we should go back now
John Smith: You're right, let's get going, it's close to lunchtime
[They sit up, take everything with them, and then walk back to the village while still conversing and sharing loads of laughs, hugs, and kisses]
