[The Woods]
After the Salvatore's learned of Elijah's plan involving Elena's ultimate sacrifice, the brothers were set on daggering him. Alura was just hoping to convince them to let anyone but either of the two do the actual daggering. She decided she'd dagger Elijah out of sheer spite for his constant need to be overbearing. Yes, she had been kidnapped three times, but (as he so nicely pointed out) could've gotten out of the situation easily. She didn't exactly feel any need the most recent time, and was only waiting on her strength the first. No, she wasn't exactly at her full strength, but she wasn't useless.
After her morning murder plot with Damon, she received a call from Jenna about showing Elijah around the local historical sights. She thought it ironic to show Elijah around a place he knew better than anyone, but then realized that he must be looking for something specific. She made it her own mission to figure it out, and find it first. If Elijah was desperate enough to come up with his lame author cover, and not ask her directly, she knew it had something to do with the ritual... or the precious moments after.
Jenna, Elijah, and Ali had met a while earlier and now walking along property lines in the woods. "The old Fell property actually starts just beyond that fence." Jenna says pointing to said fence.
"Ah, the Fells. One of the Founding Families." Elijah rolls his eyes, giving a knowing look to Alura.
Jenna looks to him in confusion. "Why do you say it like that?" Alura turns to him in amusement, what stupid cover will he use now?
"My research showed me that this area was actually settled almost two full centuries earlier. It was a migration of townsfolk from the northeast, um, it was Salem, to be precise." Elijah states, making something up on the spot. More like Vikings and Natives lived here and as time went on colonists took over...
Jenna raises her eyebrows, interested in the story. "Massachusetts? As in the witch trials?"
"Which means the ever-lauded founding families...didn't actually found anything." Elijah smirks, happy to discredit the families and their history.
Having lived here for a short while during the era of the self proclaimed founders, Alura didn't oppose his tall tale. The founders weren't very good people."Well, I bet it was the men who made a big deal about being founders back in 1860. Men are very territorial." Alura explains, speaking the truth. Jenna nods in agreement.
Elijah smiles at Ali. "Yes, they are." Only he wasn't thinking about the founders being territorial, but what Klaus would do to the brothers she cared so much about when he arrived.
Alaric walks up to the pair of them, breaking the three out of their individual thoughts.
Jenna smiles at Alaric warily, thoughts of what John had told her clouding her mind. "Elijah, this is my friend, Alaric Saltzman." Skipping over the whole boyfriend part, as she was unsure what to believe at the moment.
Alaric raises his eyebrows at the lack of the boy before friend. "Yeah, I got your message about walking Elijah here through the old property lines. I thought I would tag along. You know being a history buff and all. Where to next?"
Elijah and Alura look at each other, both wandering about the strange tension between the two. "I'm pretty curious about the freed slave property owners. Some say, you know, the descendants of the slaves are the true keepers of American history." Elijah replies.
Jenna frowns looking at the surveys she had in her hands, not finding the list she needed. "Well, I only brought the surveys. I got that list in the car. Just give me a sec." She explains, heading to her car.
Elijah takes a moment to analyze the history teacher in front of him. "Alaric Saltzman. So you're one of those people on Elena's list of loved ones to protect."
