Chapter 6

She was picking up a few desserts to her plate when suddenly someone bumped her left side.

"I want this." Austin pointed at the dessert he wanted.

"Well, take it yourself."

"I can end our cooperation if you won't."

"You and my father had an agreement; we can sue you!" She elbowed his body without hesitation, which she heard a groan.

"I can sue you too for your action." He warned

"Well, go ahead." which she receives a smirk.

Emma picked the dessert he wanted before moving on to the next desserts, leaving him there with a pained face, then walked back to their table.

"Wow, that's a lot of desserts." Mrs. Hiddleston commented.

"Austin picked a lot of desserts." Mrs. Hiddleston glanced while laughing a little at Austin who was about to sit but heard everything that her mother and Emma were talking about.

He shook his head in disbelief but had a playful smile on his face.

"This tastes good." Austin commented.

"Take a bite of it." He had the food in front of her mouth, waiting for her to bite it.

Emma hesitated.

"Go on." he encourages.

She wanted to reject but his mother was watching them. She took a little bit of it, but she didn't even get to munch the dessert when she was shocked to see Austin finishing her dessert.

He could've just put down the dessert and let her finish it.

"Yeah, it tastes good." Emma had raised eyebrows while she enjoyed the flavour of the dessert.

"It's blueberry, no wonder it's good." She said after finally coming back to her senses.

"Bella hasn't gotten back from the toilet until now." Mrs. Hiddleston said which Emma suddenly remembered about Austin's girlfriend.

Austin didn't say anything about it.

He completely ignored what his mother had just said.

"It's almost the end of this event." Austin suddenly stood up.

"May I have this last dance with you?" Austin bowed down with his right hand out.

"To the success of our cooperation." He added.
Emma glanced at his mother, who mouthed "Go on."

Emma stood up and put her hand on his right arm; he then stood up and covered her palm with his hand before leading the two of them to the middle of the dance floor.

As they reached the middle of the dance floor, Austin suddenly spun her before tugging her back to his body, which she was completely not ready for.

"What the heck was that for?" Emma said angrily.

He laughed at her reaction.

"Ssh, enjoy the dance." He pushed her head to lie on his chest as his hand snaked around her waist while his other hand clasped her left hand.

"People will get the wrong idea about us; it looks like we're a couple or married couple."

"Let them be." He whispered as he led their dance.

"Why are you suddenly being so good to me?"

"It's only for tonight; don't expect me to be the same when you meet me." She scoffed.

"I will not even act like I know you when we meet." She said while looking at him, which earned her a smirk.

He pushed her head to lie back on his chest.

"I don't think your girlfriend will like us being this intimate."

"It's just dancing, not fuckin*" Emma's hand, which was holding onto his shoulder from behind, gave a light hit on his back.

"If I were in her position, I would've killed the girl you're dancing with."

"You're having trust issues and jealousy issues." He said.

"Ouch." His words really hit her hard, especially when she had gone through a problem in a relationship.

"I didn't mean to relate it to your past relationships." He said it almost with a soft voice, and she wanted to take a look at his face, but he was too fast to stop her movement.

They continue focusing on their dance.

"But if you were in her position, you wouldn't see me dancing with another girl." He said just as the song came to an end.

The two of them bowed down, while Austin was still holding onto her right hand.

Austin placed a warm kiss on the back of her hand before letting her hand go.

"I had a great time with you, Ms. Emma." He said.

Everyone from the dance floor had their last talk with their partner before leaving the dance floor.

"I'm looking forward to our cooperation these next few months. I hope you will show a good performance for your company." He added.

She stared at him for a little while.

"As long as you're not making it hard on me." Emma said.

"Because from what I heard, you're a Mr. Perfect. One wrong move or choice, you will ask them to do it from the start." She added.

She was actually lying about it, just to play with his pride. Nobody said anything about him.
But it feels like Austin can see through her lies.

He bowed down to her level, and she could feel his breath on her skin as his nose skimmed from her neck to her ear.

She froze.

"Guess I have to punish that person for spreading rumours about me." He whispered slowly, which left her with goosebumps. Her body shows a reaction.

"You are wearing the earrings I custom-made for you; please don't let a dirt spoil the earring quality." Her face went red as she heard him say that he custom-made it for her.

Austin straightened his posture while taking a glance at Emma's face.

"Let's go; the event has ended."

Emma followed behind him, and her face was still red, especially when Austin saw it. She saw him watching her reaction.

"My, my, are you okay, Emma?" Mrs. Hiddleston asked.

"Yes, I'm okay." She lied.

She then hugged Mrs. Hiddleston, ignoring Austin, before walking out of the ballroom.

There were still a few members of the media taking pictures of everyone. When her name was called, she ignored it completely as she was still having a reaction to what had just happened.
