Katoka was six years old at this time. It was a scary day for her mother. Screaming and crying heard from every room in the house. Every time this would happen Katoka would hide in her room and sob. Until this day.
It was normal at first. Screaming, crying, the usual worrying about her mother. Until there was a knock on the door. Katoka ran down to the door to open it. "DONT YOU OPEN THAT DAMN DOOR BRAT!!" Called her "father". She opened it to see a tall man in a mask.
"Hello. May I see your parents for a couple minutes?" asked the strange man. "Ok." Katoka had said. She ran up to her room in case anything were to happen (which she knew something was going on).
Next thing she knew there was even more screaming and throwing than usual. That wasn't her dad doing the throwing, her dad was screaming. She raced downstairs to see a bloody massacre. Only one person was standing, The strange man.
"Kid, I'm so sorry you had to see this." He said as he broke the silence. "...why did you do that mister..?" Katoka said tearing up. "I needed their bounty. I am a bounty hunter. I'm sorry." All his words seemed separated. Katoka started crying. "Hey..Hey. No crying on me. Do you have any other family to stay with?" The bounty hunter asked. Katoka shook her head. She didn't feel like talking right then.
"....would you like to come with me?" The bounty hunter questioned his thought process on that sentence. "I don't trust you." Katoka had said with fear. "Don't worry. I will take off my helmet if that helps." The bounty hunter was being.. kind? He took off his helmet and Katoka saw his curly messed up hair and happy-ish face.
"You can call me by my name. Din. Din Djarin." Din had said. Katoka thought about how this could be the only good father figure she could have. "I'll come Din." Katoka said with a giggle. "Then we have to leave immediately young one." Din said. "I'm Katoka." "Ok." And they walked out while Din held Katoka's hand.
