Felix woke with a jerk, to the feeling of the Alien's car stopping. His body felt sluggish again, but he could still move with extra effort. As the back of the car opened, and Felix saw the alien moving towards his carrier, he dragged himself into the corner and curled up as tight as he could. His head was throbbing with all the new information he's gained. He's a pet, an animal, to these creatures. What if they don't like him, and decide he's nothing more than a punching bag, like his brother did. These creatures were huge, they could definitely do more damage than his brother.

Felix was so lost in his own thoughts, that he didn't realize the carrier had been set down, and the bars were gone. At the feeling of something touching his back, he jumped and screamed, it was the alien's hands. His breath picked up, and he couldn't control his trembling. The hands backed away, but Felix's breath only became more erratic, he started panicking, he couldn't breathe. Tears welled in his eyes, and his chest became tight. Felix's head was starting to feel light, and he was close to passing out, when the hands came back.

Felix was hauled out of the carrier, and held tightly to the alien's chest. He briefly registered shushing noises, but his mind was too panicked to register it. Then all of the sudden his hand was grabbed and placed on the alien's chest. "Breathe little one. Follow my breaths." With that the alien started taking deep breaths with Felix's hand on his chest.

It took Felix a moment, but eventually he was able to calm down enough to follow the alien's instructions. He could finally breathe again, but the first thing he did was cry. All the stress of waking up in a strange place, stuck in a box, carted off to a vet, and being surrounded by giants, was taking its toll on Felix.

The alien pulled him closer to its chest, and Felix was so exhausted he'd take any comfort he could get. He buried his head in the crook of its neck, and continued to sob, while grasping its shirt so tight his knuckles turned white.

Felix cried until he couldn't anymore, and his eyes were red and puffy. The alien simply rocked him back and forth, and made the shushing noises you'd make to a crying baby. By the time he calmed down, he was clinging to the alien like a koala, with his head still buried against its neck. "Little one, you're alright, you're safe here, there's no need to cry anymore."

Felix, actually recognizing that he could understand that alien for the first time, pulled away from its neck, and stared up as it in shock. He heard the alien chuckle, before it started talking again. "I am Ferainar, but you may call me Fera if you wish. What is your name little one, unless you'd like a new one?"

"Felix!" Was all he managed to stutter out. He felt the alien chuckle again, and managed to work up the courage to talk. "You really won't hurt me?" He practically whispered.

"I would never hurt you, I've waited so long to have a pet I can cherish and take care of. I would never purposely harm you in anyway. I even made sure to get you a translator chip, to prevent miscommunication." Fera stated calmly.

Felix felt better at hearing that, but after years of being abused by the ones that were supposed to love and take care of him, it was hard to believe.

"Would you like to choose your belongings from the store today, or tomorrow?"

Felix thought about it, but came to the conclusion that he was utterly exhausted, and would rather not leave again. He gave a mumbled 'tomorrow' and slumped back into Fera, who nodded, and stood up. Felix was still secured in his arms, and clung tighter after accidentally looking down.

They walked into what was probably Fera's bedroom. There was a giant bed in the center, but Felix also noticed a square mattress on the floor, in the corner of the room. It looked to be queen sized, and it had soft looking sheets with a few blankets and pillows on top. Fera bent down, and grabbed one of the blankets, then proceeded to wrap it around Felix. This was an odd gesture, but Felix found it somewhat comforting.

They walked out of the bedroom, and back to the main room they were first in. Felix reevaluated his surroundings and figured this was the living room. It had what he assumed was a tv on the wall, and a couch on the other side of the room.

Felix was set down on the couch, and Fera walked into an adjoining room, that appeared to be the kitchen. He rooted through a couple cabinets, before grabbing something that looked like a cup, and tapping it to metal oval in the wall. He walked back over to Felix, and handed him the cup. It was a bit big, but when he peered into it, he saw that it was full of water. He immediately started drinking, a little dribbling down his chin.

When he was finished, he handed the cup back to Fera who placed it on a small table against the side of the couch. Felix was then scooped up, and placed in Fera's lap, as the TV flicked on. He couldn't read anything on the screen, but once Fera clicked on a show, he could understand it. It was some detective show, but Felix wasn't interested, and felt his eyes grow heavier.

Felix cracked his eyes at the feeling of being lifted, but he was too tired to fully wake up. He. briefly registered that it was dark outside the windows, and they were headed to the bedroom. Felix was placed on his little mattress, and felt blankets being pulled over him, before slipping back into sleep.

Waking again, to a strange pang in his gut, Felix sat up. He looked over, and saw that Fera was sleeping deeply in his bed, based off of the slow breathing coming from the lump of blankets he saw. The pang struck again, and Felix felt the intense urge to shift. He checked one more time to make sure Fera was asleep, before giving in and shifting. After he was shifted he got up and walked into the living room.

Felix explored the house, rubbing against every object he could find. He needed to scent mark everything he came across, he was running on instinct. He finished scenting, and walked back to the bedroom. He didn't know what was going on, but he felt the need to shift back now. He shifted back, but only managed a half shift, as his ears and tail were still out, along with a trail of fur running along his spine, from his head to his tail.

Felix looked at his bed, and noticed it didn't have nearly enough pillows and blankets. He headed back to the living room, and raided the couch, and emptied a basket he found, that was containing blankets. He dragged his spoils back to his bed, and arranged everything into a pile. He then began pulling things out of the pile and creating a circle. Pillows were tucked in random spots, and blankets were folded into the edges to create a soft circle, big enough for him to fit in.

Once he was done, Felix snapped out of his trance, and realized what he'd done. He knew when shifters were under large amounts of stress, that could nest, but it'd never happened to him before. Not even realizing his ears and tail were out, Felix laid down in his nest, and fell asleep, too tired to care about the consequences that may come.

A/N- sorry for the double authors note, but regarding Fera's name, I know it kinda sounds like a girls name, but that doesn't really apply to aliens, also for his full name, Ferainar Arabiitryn, I have no idea how to pronounce it, so just pop it into google translate and tap the voice button if you're curious!
