Midsummer, the charming cobblestoned streets, the best savoury crêpes . . . it didn't take long for Mira and Jake to bond over her bucket list of things to do in Paris. As the hours passed and they toured the city, Jake's salesman swagger gave way to his endearing side, and Mira—who'd been determined to keep a wall around her emotions—felt her orderly instincts give way to spontaneity, too charmed by Jake's presence not to live in the moment.
When they almost kissed in the rain at Canal Saint-Martin, it hit her—she'd just come off a broken engagement; where could this go? And Jake had a secret too.
As night fell, external forces seemed destined to keep them apart. A sultry French woman, a couple of new friends, a midnight Eiffel Tower picnic and double date from hell, a late-night party, a hot French bartender . . . time was ticking and soon it would all be over.
