The Start(Rewritten)

Hello!
My name is Katie I'm the sister of Zane and this is my story on how I became The Elemental Master of Darkness and a Ninja that serves Ninjago.
It was a normal day in the Birchwood Forest where I live with my father Dr. Julian and my older brother Zane and then their's me I'm Katie Zane's younger sister.
Me and Zane grew up in this forest so we know our way around the place.
Zane was currently chopping up firewood for our father when he was approached by this strange old man."Hello there may I speak to you?" The old man asked Zane. "Of course sir how may I help you?" Zane responded to the man. "Are you Zane if I may ask." Zane nodded and said "That is correct do you want me to chop wood for you?" Zane asked in response to the old man.
The man chuckled. "Sometime Zane but not today." The man said. Katie came over to check on her brother and saw the man. "Hey Zane father wants to kn-." I cut myself of confused on why their was a old man here. "Umm Zane who is this?" I asked him. "I don't know either Katie he just started talking to me."Zane said appearing to be also confused on who this man was.
"Oh my apologies I forget to introduce my name well I'm Wu but you may call me Sensei Wu." Said Wu introducing himself to us. "Sensei?" I asked confused on why we would call him Sensei when we barely know this man.
"You see, you to have element's inside you my job will be to help you control it and become ninja." Wu said very calmly to us. "Element's?" Zane said confused just as I was myself. "Yes you Katie you have the element of darkness inside of you. It's very powerful and useful if not in the wrong hands." Wu said to me what he said shocked me.
Wu then looked at Zane and said. "You have the element of ice also a very powerful element." Wu said very calmly both me and my brother were shocked we have powers is what went through both our heads at the moment.
"I must go now but I will come and get you two very soon for training goodbye for now Julian sibling." Wu said but just like that he was gone.
Both me and Zane were speechless could we actually have powers?
