Distinct chatter echoed all around the meeting room. Many gods sat all around with grim looks evident on their faces. In the middle of the courtroom sat the king of all gods. Zeus.
The chatter came to a halt once Zeus slammed the gavel against the wooden surface three times. Hermes stood next to Zeus's side with his hands politely folded behind his back.
"Now then everyone," Zeus began, peering at the many gods, "1,000 years have already passed since the last session... let's commence our meeting."
He paused, adjusting the gavel in his hands.
"The council of the fate of Mankind attended by all the gods of the world. The question is..."
Footsteps echoed as heels clanked against the polished marbles flooring. Dark navy hair that resembled the beauty of midnight swayed with every step taken. Zeus looked up at the gods with a questioning glance.
"Do we allow mankind to continue to exist for the next 1,000 years?" He paused, "Or do we bring their existence to an end?"
Hermes held up two signs which one contained an 'X', while the other contained a circle.
"Gods and and goddesses, make your opinion known."
"Here's what I think." A certain purple god held up two signs that both had an 'X' contained on them. Shiva lazily looked up, his other pair of arms supporting his head. "They should be wiped out. I've watched them for the last 1,000 years, but they have no intention of reforming."
Shiva smirked in amusement, his bored face slightly brightening.
"Let's demolish the whole lot of them." Shiva concluded.
"Yes, you are quite right Shiva." A feminine voice spoke up, "These past 1,000 years, the world has become increasingly unpleasant."
Aphrodite's blue eyes softened as she tilted her head to the side.
"The oceans are filled with trash and oil, the forests are dying out, and creatures continue to go extinct." Aphrodite listed, her face morphing into one of sadness. "You can even say mankind itself is a calamity. That is, annihilating all living things on the face of the earth."
"Aphrodite is right!" Several gods shouted out as agreeing chatter rang out amongst themselves.
"Mankind should be exterminated!"
More shouts let out as every god present in the room held up the sign with the 'X' imprinted on it.
"Well, it seems we've come to a decision." Zeus spoke, looking at the many signs. He held up the gavel, "By unanimous vote, the council of the fate of mankind has decided to end—"
Just as Zeus was about to pound the gavel against the podium, a yell was heard.
"Wait!"
