I don't know where I stand in this world, all that maters is that I'm standing~

Jazzmyn wanted anything but to be a babysitter this beautiful night. She'd rather be out partying with her friends, but that's definitely one thing she won't be doing tonight...
"Ugh! Mom can I please have rain-check for Mrs. Farrel tonight?! This party is supposed to be the party of the year!!" Jazzmyn groaned most unhappily. "No, Jazz, now stop asking. You always go out almost every weekend. No need to go out this weekend too. Do something for other once. Now, go get ready for dinner. We're having tacos, but dad won't be with us tonight, because as you know he always works late on weekends." Jazzmyn's mother said with a sigh.
Jazz never understood her mother. Take her father for example, Jazz's dad has been dead for 7 years now, yet her mother still acts as if he is alive. Then take the family dog, Buddy, he ran away years ago but Jamie, Jazz's mother, still calls him in for dinner and actually puts food out for him. Jazz always thought this woman that she addresses as her mom, was crazy.
As Jazzmyn got ready to go to Mrs. Farrel's, she packed an extra bag, which held a crimson red off the shoulder dress that stopped at just under mid-thigh, and a pair of black heels. Along with her party make-up of course. She grabbed the bag and her purse then walked downstairs and bid her mother goodbye.
Jazzmyn arrived 10 minutes later at Mrs. Farrels doorstep. After ringing the doorbell twice, she stepped back so Mrs. Farrel can open the door without her getting hit. Who opened the door moments later, surprised her most.
"Colby? What are you doing here?"
Colby laughed and looked at her as if she were crazy. "I live here. Anyway, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be getting ready for Jason's party tonight? That's where I'm headed now."
Jazz shifted on her feet embarrassed, not wanting Colby Farrel, the hottest guy in school, to know that she was stuck babysitting on a Friday night.
"Uhm.... Well.... I Uh... That's where I'm Uh.. headed too. Just have to tell Mrs. Farrel something..." Jazz stammered. She pushed past Colby and shuffled into the kitchen where she saw Mrs. Farrel hurrying to get ready. "Oh hi dear, excuse me for my hurrying state, I'm just in a big hurry. Thanks millions for wating Tanner tonight. It's a big help!" Mrs. F rushed her words, all doing so while trying to get on her 5 inch heels.
"Oh, no problem Mrs. Farrel. I'm happy to watch Tanner tonight." Jazz forced a smile, not wanting to be rude and express how much she'd rather be at her friends party.
"Please, call me Susan. Mrs. Farrel makes me feel old" Susan laughed and bustled out the door after bidding Jazz a goodbye.
An hour passed and it was 8:00 p.m, also known as Tanner's bedtime. Tanner, already in bed ready to go, waited for Jazzmyn to come up. As Jazzmyn hurried up the stairs into Tanner's room, Tanner cried out "Story!! I wanna story Jazzy!" He gave his best million dollar smile to Jazz. Jazz gave in, sighing,
"Okay. One story, but I get to pick this time." Jazz smiled, thinking of the perfect scary story to tell. Jazz wasn't trying to mean to the young one, she just wanted to tell him a scary story and spook him a bit. What she didn't know was that this story would change her life forever...
