000. Glastonbury
2015
"Clara, c'mon, I wanna get a drink," Juniper complained as she pulled on Clara's arm.
"You went back to the tent an hour ago to get water," Clara deadpanned, looking over to her friend who was making puppy eyes at her.
"But I want a gin and tonic," her friend whined.
"You always do, c'mon," Clara laughed as she obliged, letting herself be pulled forward by Juniper.
They tried to dodge the big crowds, occasionally and accidentally bumping into a few people, followed by a quick apology as the two pushed their way through the mass of festivalgoers. Juniper finally spotted the round bar, which, luckily for them, still had a few open spots where they could stand.
"A martini and a gin and tonic, please," Clara ordered for the two of them, Juniper still swinging along to the music playing in the background.
"Hey, do you have my phone?" Juniper asked as she frantically looked for it in all her pockets.
"No, did you leave it in the tent again?" Clara joked, feeling her pockets as well.
"Shit, I probably did, I'll be right back," the young British woman said, jogging away from the bar, and into the direction of their massive tent.
The closer she got to the tent, the thinner the crowds got. Most people were enjoying the music and the sun right now, allowing her to walk through the grass freely, not having to worry about bumping into anyone.
Swinging open the flaps of the tent, she strolled over to the bed, immediately having spotted her phone there.
"Stupid," she chuckled to herself, but when she walked out of their tent again, the sun nearly blinded her.
"Sunglasses," she muttered, pushing the tent flaps open for the third time and grabbing her backpack off the floor. Rummaging through it, she found the hard black case, pulling out her sunglasses and placing them on the bridge of her nose.
Sighing happily, she made her way back over to the bar, only to find out that Clara wasn't alone anymore. Standing next to her, was someone that Juniper could recognise from miles away, his black cowboy hat sticking out from the crowd.
Juniper just slid back into her spot at the bar, grabbing the gin and tonic that was waiting for her. Beside her, Clara was trying her hardest to end the conversation with the man, but apparently she was failing miserably.
"What are we doing?" He chuckled as he followed Clara's finger in the air.
Juniper had to try her best not to laugh at the fact that he didn't at all get what Clara was hinting at.
"Swiping to the left," Clara explained to him, leaning back a little on the bar. "What, you don't to tinder in America?"
"Do you know, I think it's probably a generational thing," a younger British guy joined their conversation, squeezing his way to the bar, separating Juniper from Clara.
"It translates as 'go away, old man'," the British guy continued, and Juniper took that as her sign to investigate.
"Be good, be cool," the man with the cowboy hat gave up, defeatedly walking away from the bar, but being stopped by a familiar voice.
"Didn't think Glastonbury was your type of scene, Whiskey," Juniper said, casually strolling after him, lifting her glass to her mouth as she took a small sip.
"Gin?"
