Prologue

"Sooo...how'd you even get into that pendant, Bai?"

I was not content with this, so I tried to search for the man I loved, however I was not let outside the temples walls. So when a thief came, I fell in love, he was so handsome. I believe he was charmed too, infact it was he who came to me. Hearing my song, he was in a trance. However I fear he only was charmed by the lute I was holding, I played beautiful songs for him. Anytime he came by, I was playing the same songs."

"Then, my elders heard about the news, they had already found a suitor for me, so why had I had the gall to run away from my fate? Not event I understand anymore, however I had learned that my wedding was soon, so me and the thief exchanged one last kiss. However during that night he stole the lute, an important heirloom to my family."

"The loot i found? The gold one?"

"It's—lute and yes, the gold one, and when they found out—boy were they mad. I didn't expect them to condemn me in a pendant, but they did. (Chuyi stood on the cliff, white pendant in hand. The wind blowing in their face, the stars illuminating their way. The animals reminding them, they are not in deaths grasp.)

(Chuyi looked at Mallow, the small boy looking up at them, they gently cupped his cheeks and crouched next to him. Slightly pinching them, how they missed humans.)

(Mallow laughed and playfully slapped Chuyi hands away, before looking to the distance.)

"Now, what are you going to do? I mean—you've been in that pendant for soooo long! We can go get icecream or dango or—or uhm...we can get—udon!"

(Chuyi Smiled at the young boy.)

"What do people usually do after they escape a gem prison?"

*She asked, obviously making fun of the boy.*

"Well, I dunno! Maybe dango."

(They shook their hand and laughed, covering their mouth with their pībō)

"Then let's go get Dango."

(Mallow raised his hands and began cheering, before running off into the town. Chuyi right behind them.)
