Reunion

"Katniss?" He stuttered, looking both surprised and joyful.
"Peeta. It's me, Katniss!" I blurted, "I missed you."
"Really? Did you miss me?." He questioned.
"So much, really Peeta." I answered instantly.
He hesitated, "You love me. Real or not real?"
I smiled, "Real."

He smiled, and kissed me. I held onto his head and let his tongue explore my mouth.
He grabbed my hand and guided me. I smiled again, of course he was still being considerate. We ran across the court yard, hand in hand.

As we entered my run-down house, we both slowed down.
"Peeta. How long have you been here?" I suddenly asked him.
"I was dropped off earlier today. You must have been out." he responded.
"Why did you come back?" I stared at his ocean eyes, watching them lighten up.
"Katniss. I came back for you. You know that." He softly said.
I smiled, and without responding I brushed my lips against his, sweetly kissing him.

"Katniss," I heard Peeta whisper in my ear , "How slow are we taking this?"
"I don't know Peeta, I guess we'll just have to see," I grinned back.
He lay a hand on my thigh, "Okay."
He pulled away and started to walk towards my sofa. He sat down and signalled for me to sit.
"We should rebuild District 12." He announced
I quickly turned my head around at looked at him.
"What?"

"You heard me. It could work Katniss, I swear. Imagine all the families living here, exploring the town, creating families. The only difference would be is that we wouldn't all be dying in poverty." He vividly painted this idea over the air. It was a good idea, that was for sure. I could imagine a busy marketplace, a bright and beautiful town. I had one question.
"How?"

He didn't seem fazed, "Well, we could invite rebels from our district, and together build a whole new town."
"What about all the others, such as from 11 or 10?" I asked.
"Some of them could come too." He said, "Katniss, I know it sounds crazy but it could really work! Trust me."
I sighed, "Maybe Peeta, we could try."
He could sense my hesitation, "But for now I promise we'll work on our relationship."
