Two hours later we finally arrived at the stadium. “WE'RE HERE!” I screamed, swinging my hands out of the top of Kenzie’s red convertible, making her jump.
“Seriously Beth!” she laughed, but I could tell she was just as excited as I was. We parked in an open lot and set up our things to tailgate. We had a grill, my ihome, and a few chairs. I threw some hot dogs on the grill and turned to Kenzie, “crank up the tunes girl” i said, in my most obnoxious southern accent. she immediately plugged in her iPod and put the one direction play-list on shuffle. After stuffing my face with two hot dogs (I'm a pig, i know) I sat down and checked my phone. “oh, I got a text from Ella!
‘Hey guys, I’m not going to make it, my parents grounded me because I kinda forgot to tell them I bought a ticket…’”
“You have got to be kidding me!” Kenzie groaned. “Her parent is so annoying!”
"Are you she you wont be able to sneak out?!" I replied. my phone beeped almost immediately.
"no, sorry.. im already in enough trouble" It read, i groaned and typed a response: "IT WONT BE THE SAME WITHOUT YOU! :( (i'll make sure to buy you a t-shirt)" As i sent the message i check the tame, it was almost 6:45 and the concert started at 8.
"I don't mean to sound out of place here, but we should probably head in soon" I said, trying to hide sadness in my voice.
“yah, just give me a second to grab the tickets” Kenzie grabbed her purse and shuffled through the pockets “Oh god… oh my oh, please don’t kill me but.. I um, I…” she stuttered.
“Just spit it out!” I interrupted, starting to get nervous. She gulped “I forgot the tickets.”
I stood frozen unsure how to react. My hands went numb and immediately I though she must be kidding! “Very funny Kenzie” I laughed “you really got me there!” She shook her head. “I’m so sorry”
“Seriously Kenzie, lets go!”
“Ella! I forgot the tickets! I’m being completely serious!” she practically yelled, making the people around us turn their heads. I could feel the tears welling up in my eyes and quickly wiped them away before anyone could notice.
“we’ll just have to go get them” I jumped in to the car and slammed the door. Trying to get the message across about how frustrated I was. Kenzie sat next to my “its two hours home and back, and the concert start in a hour. We wont have enough time!” I knew she was right but how else were we going to get in?
“what if we call Ella? Maybe she can stop by your house, grab the tickets, and bring them to us!” I suggested, a glimmer of hope in my eyes.
“Isn’t she grounded?” Kenzie responded. I raised my eyebrow and laughed
“well i think under the surcustances Ella would be more than capable of sneaking out” I said, almost laughing.
I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and dialed her number, she picked up after two rings.
“Hey Beth, what up?”
“Kenzie forgot the concert tickets! We need you to bring them to us” I exclaimed.
“How easily you forget, I’m grounded, my parents have me on complete lockdown, I’m surprised they ley me use my phone!”
“Then you’re just going to have to sneak out. Please do this for me Ella. “ I begged, crossing my figures. Kenzie did he same.
