Not everyone is born equal, a sad but true fact of life. Kacchan has an explosion quirk, and I had no quirk. I used to idealise him, but I soon realised that he wasnt the boy I thought he was. But I stuck with him, hoping I could fix his personality. That was until he told me to "pray for a quirk in your next life, and jump off the roof of the building." That was when I realised, kacchan would never change, not without something to force him to change. And then I almost died, attacked by a slime villian on my way home. I was saved by allmight, who then told me a quirkless person couldn't be a hero. Those words broke something deep inside me, something dark, something sad. I went to the beach to find somewhere quiet to think, and that was when the most important event of my short life happened. My name is Izuku midoriya, and I'm the king of the titans. No, I'm not godzilla, but my titan form shares many simularities with the big G.

Izuku stood on the shore, skipping stones as he thought. Even his idol, all might, didn't think he could be a hero. All might was nothing but a hypocrite, saying that quirkless people could be heroes on the news, then telling him that his honest opinion was that they couldn't. Was that true? Where the quirkless really so useless that they couldn't do anything? He knew it was hard to get a job when you were quirkless, almost no one would give a job to the quirkless. It was no wonder that 95% of quirkless people commited suicide or turned to villiany, as everyone looked down on the quirkless. He was drawn from his thoughts by a weird, atomic blue glow. Odd, there shouldn't be anything here that glows like that. His head felt woozy the longer he stayed there, before he collapsed.

He awoke in a white void, a literally empty expanse of nothing but white. "Okay, where the hell am I?"
"You are in a void, a space inbetween." A melodic voice that sounded strained came from behind him. He spun, only to come face to face with a girl who wore a dress that looked like it was made out of living plants. The girl herself was pale skinned and looked sick, as if something was slowly killing her. "Hello Izuku midoriya, I am Gaia, the physical representation of the planet's will."
"How do you know my name?" He asked, slightly concerned. The girl, Gaia, laughed. "I know everything about everyone. " he stared in shock. Gaia smiled gently at him. "I am the planet, and I know all of my children. Although, most of them arent trying to kill me." Gaia said before having a coughing fit. Ixuku wasn't sure what to do, so he rubbed Gaia's back as she coughed. Once the coughing had stopped, Gaia took a moment to catch her breath. "Now, onto the reason I brought you here. Once, before quirks came about, there were giant creatures that roamed the earth. Humanity called these creatures kaiju, although they where also referred to as titans. They were both destroyers and healers, healing areas of the earth from the damage caused by humanity. But then, humanity found a way to kill the titans, who they feared. I'm unsure if they saw the aftermath of a titan attack without tinted lenses, but it didn't matter. The titans kept renewing the planet, while humanity kept destroying it. It was balanced, a delicate balance but a balance all the same. After the extinction of the kaiju, I could only watch as humanity slowly killed me and gather my strength. I searched long and hard for a suitable candidate, and then I found you. You have a choice now Izuku midoriya, you can reject my offer and pray you don't die of radiation poisoning, or you can accept my offer and be my hero, even if others will view you as a monster. My offer, is to become the first of the new generation of titans, to have the power to heal the earth and restore the balance. I'll let you think on it." Gaia settled back in the leafy chair that had sprung up behind her. Izuku considered the proposal. On one hand he would be saving the planet and he would have power, something he had subconsciously craved for a while now. But on the other, he would be a villian, even if Gaia claims that he would be a hero to her. He was about to reject her offer when he caught sight of Gaia. She was curled into herself, eyes downcast and sullen. She didn't look well at all. "Gaia, how long does the planet have left?" He asked. Gaia looked up, suprised at suddenly being addressed. "I don't know Izuku. It could be anywhere from 5 years to a century, but it is dying. The worse the planet gets, the worse I get. I used to be human like you, a long time ago. I remember what it was like, back when the titans were still around. I don't remember my original name, it was so long ago now that I couldn't remember even if I tried. With humanity so focused on quirks, they have neglected other technologies. In other words, if I die so does humanity. I don't want that, I don't want to die. I don't wish for humanity to die either, as even if they are killing me they are still my children. If you don't accept, I'll just have to find someone else." Gaia shrugged, sounding nonplussed. But he could see in her eyes, what she had left unsaid. She hadn't said how long it had taken to find a suitable candidate, nor how many had rejected the offer before him. And he could see her fear, the fear that he'll reject her offer and potentially condemn her to a slow, painful death. He couldn't afford to think about this in terms of heroes and villians. If he rejected the offer, Gaia may not find another person to give the offer to. If he accepted, then he could buy Gaia time to make more titans, and slowly heal the planet. "I accept Gaia." Gaia let out a relieved sigh, all the tension in her body vanishing in an instant. Gaia hugged him, a near bone crushing hug. "Thank you Izuku. I know this is a big change in your life, but I, the planet needs you. True I could find someone else in time, but theres no guarantee that they would accept." Gaia trembled as another coughing fit racked her body. He held her up and helped her back into her chair. Gaia panted, the fear having returned to her eyes. "All you need to think on now, is what your Titan name will be. You don't need to decide now, but it needs to be a cool name. Like Godzilla, that is an example of a good titan name. Don't use that though, as I do plan on giving that specific titan a resurrection, once I get enough strength back. Now, rise once more as the king of the Titans." Izuku's world went black, a single "thank you Izuku" being the last thing he heard.
