It started off like any normal day, I woke up to my mom rubbing my shoulder. I signed to her good morning and she signed the same back. I walked with her to our gigantic kitchen, sat down and poured myself some cereal. The rest of the day was pretty much the same, I went to my school (Cedar Creek School for the Deaf), came home, pretty average. But all to soon it became the opposite of average.
I had just gotten back from school, and was following my normal routine; drop of my backpack and purse in my room, take my homework to our kitchen, grab myself a snack, and work.
Everything was super normal. Then my mom went out get our mail, which normally came around 4:15. I went back to my studying, as the time went ticking on. About 8 minuets later I looked up, partially annoyed for my mother would have normally already come into the kitchen, put the mail down, and get me a cookie, yet this had not happened. My father walked in and signed at me saying he was going to go check on my mother, she was probably just talking to the neighbors he said, so he went out.
I didn't really suspect anything at this time, but the police say that because I am deaf, I couldn't hear the two shots that killed my parents that day. I have been sitting in the police station ever since my neighbors ran into my house and signed to me what had happened. We immediately called the police and waited. While we were waiting I wandered outside, to the crime scene, I saw my mother and father both lying there, stone cold dead, and I burst into tears. That's how the police found me, 40 minuets later, still crying. And while I am sitting in the police lobby, waiting for my turn to be interrogated again, the stream of tears is still poring down my face. I don't know if I can ever stop the stream.
